Not so happy right now lol i got off work about 1hour of driving between freeway and some test drive, the gauge started acting up again! but longest i ever driven without getting overheat...it takes a while to get to the Hot but when i dont drive it hard its start to come back down a bit but still working its way up to H. Then when i got home i check the overflow and its gotten higher then i think it should be...hmmm i dont know whats wrong now maybe i need to burp it some more today? im guess there is still some air in the system...but definitely a big progress comepare to before.

"I'm still curious though, before you brought it to the mechanic and spent 800 bucks. Was there any work you know of done on the cooling system?"
i did replace the thermostat at home but still overheated so i went to the mechanic shop and thats when they replace radiator and re"did" thermostat just to make sure it wasnt a faulty one.

Are your cooling fans spinning? After the car has been running for awhile pop the hood and listen to see if the fans turn on. You can try burping the system some more, but I've never had a problem before after getting hot air at idle. It's scorching heat right not just kinda warm?

If it's still overheating then either there is more air, bad temperature sensor, or something worse like a head gasket. I did see a video recently where a mechanic was having a similar issue and the water pump fins were rusted down to nothing. So, the car would start to overheat and it was because it couldn't push enough coolant through to cool it. I don't think that's a problem here, but it could be?
