Minor mods...

I cant really afford to jump into new wheels, or anything that's going to take money away from my business, and I ahve to do something!!!

Looks like Im going to be taking off my door strips/gaurds. The wife doesnt like em on there at all, and I just havent had the time to do anything with em yet. I think Im going to take some of the badging off the back as well.

Thinking about taking off the G35 and IFINITI off the back. Not sur eyet though. I know I dont like the G35 just sitting up in the corner, so that's coming off for sure.

I was board, so thought I'd just post up my thoughts.

Well if you AHVE to do something and your badge spells Infiniti IFINITI and you're wife thinks the GAURDS suck and you're so BOARD, I would for SUR do it. Unless of course you want to wait until after you learn to spell/type, in which case I wouldn't do it EYET.

Sorry man, just couldn't resist the opportunity to be a smart a$$. :-) What does you're wife have against the guards? And do you mean the silver strip on the inside of the door sill that says Infiniti or the guard on the outside? I've read a lot of mod pages on this forum, but I can't remember anybody talking about removing or replacing them. Do you know what's under the strips if you take them off? Just curious...

Personally I like the Infiniti on the back. It lets people know whats up. I guess I don't mind the G35 so I'm going to leave it. Now the question is do you think taking the badges off will leave anything behind? I debadged my old Camry and I could still see the outlines of the old badges. Granted it was a green car so you could def see the difference in the paint from the covered part to the exposed part.

Probably a good question for the Skyline re-badgers. They removed and then added back more characters than were there before, so they must know something about the paint work that might be involved to make it flawless.

just heat them up with a hair dryer and use dental floss or fishing line to remove them, then use some tar remover for any radhesive residue, polish, and wax and you'll never tell they were there

No need for fishing line or dental floss.

I put some goo gone spray on them (top) so it would soak in a bit. Then got the heat gun out and warmed em up. Since is was pretty warm today, they didnt need to much with the gun.

Grabbed an end and started to pull, using the heat gun in front of what I was pulling off. Came right off.

Goo Gone, rag, and then a wash. Tomorrow I'll break out the cleaner and wax and give it a good coat. You can BARELY see where they were if you're looking for it, so it should be easy to get everything to match.

It looks SOOOOOO much better with them off though!!

I left everythnig on the back for now. I'm thinking the G35 is gone and everything else might stay...dont know yet.

I took off only the G35 and left the rest, but I also like the look with the INFINITI letters gone and just the logo remaining. To me it's just too empty when completely debadged (no offense, Triple8Sol ).
