F/S PS3 60GB 1st Generation + controller + remote + GT5: 550

This is a FIRST generation PS3, not a 2nd or 3rd.

Difference include:

4 USB ports (new ones have 2)
Hardware Backwards compatibility (new ones cannot play PS1/PS2 games; 2nd gen had emulated PS2 capability)
Card reader (CF, SD, MD)

I am also including an extra controller (barely used, no wear ring visible on the analog joystick), a Blu-Ray bluetooth remote (don't have to point it at the PS3, can be used as a third contoller ), and GT5 Prologue (with my save that has a bunch of cars).

Retail on New PS3: 599.99
Controller: 49.99
GT5 Prologue: 49.99
Remote: 24.99

+ CA Tax: 55.41

Total Paid: 770.37

I am letting the whole thing go for just$550 picked up. Cash only please. My loss is your gain.

I am in Riverside, CA.

I also have a Logitech Driving Force Pro Steering wheel that you can have for $80. (this is the wheel that has 900 degree turning; can be switched to 180 degree mode for games like NFS).

Other games I am willing to sell:

Disgaea 3
Valkyria Chronicles
NFS Prostreet
Armored Core 4

(Market price; we'll look up gamestop; my disks are flawless)

its the very first generation of ps3. its also backwards compatible. and has alot more power to it than the new gens. plus it has the silver chrome finished. it also has ports for memory cards (im not sure if the new gens have it or not but correct me if im wrong) like for pictures and videos. if i was ever in the market for a ps3, i would definitely pick this up. cuz the first gens are so much cooler. (imo) btw i also think the first gen has a special chip or i should say cell, that no one knows what its functions are. thus creating the 60gb to be $600. which also lead in a profit loss for sony. (i havent been up to date with the new ps3s and what not. so feel free to correct me

bump for seller and first gen ps3. i too paid 770+ when this came out.

PS3 prices have changed; the console has also changed.

This is a 1st generation PS3 which has capabilities that the current model PS3 lacks.

Now I'm quite curious as to how the first gens are more powerful than the new gens. From what I'm aware of they USE more power but are not any more powerful than the latest generation of ps3's. The 65nm processors are supposed to be more power efficient.

This isn't to bash you, this is cause i'm a nerd comp. engineer and like to know these things.

Backwards compatibility were via the special chip that the first gens have but others don't, its called Emotion Engine. The seconds gens also have backwards compatibility however this is via software emulation. The latest systems do not have backwards compatibility.

Pricing has dropped due to leaving out that processor (Emotion Engine) however falling hardware prices and changing processor production to 65nm process is the major factors in the price drop.

The other option you mention is the flash card reader in which you are correct that is not available on the latest generation as well as yours also supports SACD (Super Audio CD, can provide higher accuracy as well as surround sound compared to the regular audio cd).

Take a look at http://www.isuppli.com/NewsDetail.aspx?ID=19842 if you are interested in what all changed hardware-wise and how they reduced the price and such.
