if it's only a few days old take it back and get your full refund from att. You're able to test the unit and return it before you keep it. I know t-mobile lets customers use the phone for 2 weeks before returning it for a full refund.

 

the thing is I ordered it online and so if I want to return it I'd have to ship it back and wait several weeks. Its a pain in the buttt

 

can't you just take it back to At&t dealer near you. I'm not talking about a mom and pop store that is an authorized dealer, but an actual AT&T store that sells nothing else.
