Dal's Wide body Article by Greg Turnage -Portland Tuner Car Examiner

here is an article Greg did of me and my car..

This smooth looking G35 belongs to Dallas Tung out of Columbus , Ohio . He bought it brand new in 2006 and has been modifying it ever since . Originally from Cerritos , California Dallas is not new to the tuner scene . This G35 wasn't his first car that he customize but this was the first one he was building with plans of taking it to car shows and had a game plan on how it would be competed .

Starting with the APR wide body kit and MG carbon fiber trunk all covered in candy apple red paint job Dallas started putting the pieces together . And the motor was at the top of the list . He took his car to the guys at Slow Motion Motorsports to get the motor work done starting with installing a Greddy turbo , Cosworth intake manifold , Deatschwerks 800cc injectors , HKS SSQ bov . And UPREV engine management system with a Apexi AVC-R boost controller . Next a CIM fuel pump and fuel return system was installed . A ACT streetlite flywheel and clutch kit was added along with an HKS exhaust system .

Next the suspension had to be upgraded . An AP racing 13 inch big brake kit was added . Eibach sway bars front and rear and TEIN type mono flex coil-overs . An ARC strut bar and GT Spec under body front and rear tie bars . For shoes a set of HRE 545 R wheels and Pirelli P Zero tires round out the package .

The interior was done with a custom two-tone leather theme . An Kenwood 7100 DVD / Nav head unit with two JL audio 500 watt amps and two10 inch JL W3 subs headline the audio system . Defi gauges on the pillar highlight the interior .

Here's a Q and A I had with Dallas .

OK what was the first car you customize ?

It was a 1989 Mazda RX-7

What's your dream car to customize ?

There are so many I have no clue where to start . Mainly European exotics .

What's your favorite show to attend ?

Back when I was still in Cali I loved Import show - off but since I"m out here in Ohio now mainly HIN events .

If money was no object what would you do to your car that 's not done already ?

I would redo the my whole interior and do a stroker kit set-up .

A few car questions

Horsepower ?

600 whp

Fastest reading you've had on the speedo ?

150+ I know it was cutting it close to 155 .

Favorite mod on the car ?

My favorite mod would have to be the appearance of the vehicle . We smooth out the side skirts a bit brought in the front bumper sides a bit so it doesn't look so wide and boxy from the front view . Then added the fender vents , quite happy with the outcome of it .

Dallas would like to thank Slow Motion Motorsports for putting the engine together and fun times around the Midwest car scene .
