I needed one that charges the iphone, the older version does not.
I had to make sure I got the up to date version, there are a ton of these selling on ebay:

notice the old ipod on the left, and look at my pic.

Ted installed one on his ride, I installed the nissan one on mine. Its not as bad as you might think. Ben and I tackled it in about 30 mins, it would have been less, but there was a button that needed switched on mine that i didnt reallize needed to be.
Good luck. If nothing else, save it for our next instal meet!

ok well I might hold off and wait till I get someone more proficient than I to assist me lol. I'm gonna order a 3.5mm to rca jack hookup to it anyways, so I can have the iphone sometimes docked for GPS and still have some muzak
Nice...I have had this type of connection for over 8 years now in both my cars. I have had quality connectors and cheapos. The only difference is the amount of feedback potiential through its shielding.
I know I might get flamed for that question, but I have worked with car audio for two install shops and over 16 years of installs. I have used it all and found little difference between wires. Shielding and thickness is the only difference I have found to effect sound quality.
That was a good price for yours. I have seen people get ripped off for the same type of cord for up to$30!

monoprice.com is where i buy ALL of my cables, and while the shipping is a bit on the pricy side, their cable prices are dirt cheap, even their premium cables!
