Ted, I think there is some confusion about HDR. It's high dynamic range photography...ie good details in the shadows and in the highlights. It is sadly overused and people try to make every shot they take 'HDR' But it's not just taking a picture and cranking up the contrast until it glows. If you look at the picture of mine you edited, you can't see anything but black in your tires and all the highlights are all glowing...that's kind of the opposite of actual HDR.

Example of good HDR:

Note how there is a ton of detail in the really dark tire and in the very bright sky, it looks artificial essentially. No one exposure in a camera can accurately grab detail from the bright sky and the dark wheel wells are tires without either blowing out the sky or making the tires super dark. This is multiple proper exposures for the sky, the car, and the shadows all combined and tone mapped into one almost artificial looking picture. Done properly it's pretty cool stuff, but people over use it and make everything look like it's been covered in saran wrap and surrounded by halos.

i know my images are fake HDR since i don't have actual bracketed images....anyway it's all in the tonemapping...some ppl will intentionally tonemap an image to look artificial...it doesn't always have to be about details in the shadows and highlights more accurately an HDR image is an image that has a greater dynamic range than normal image because of the the bit depth and thus allow for more variation in intensity for each color channel. Again just photoshopping the exposure of a single image (especially a jpg) makes it hard to make "good" HDR. but you can still have some fun...=)

Thats some good info Arnab...Maybe we should start a photography thread of before and after edits with descriptions of what you did to get the effect?
