Suspension Install

I want to install some Eibach springs on my G coupe, but have no idea how to do so. Does anyone know how to do this and could help me out? I'd gladly compensate you via food/drinks! Any upcoming meets where we could work on this? Is it difficult/time-consuming to do this?

Thanks!

I did my own front and rears at ben's house but the fronts were already mounted to the shocks. It can be done...again, about 2-3 hours...keep an eye out for our install meets but there are a few guys that will do it anytime...they will chime in here.

Are you located in the Columbus area? If so, where did you get the fronts installed? Also, if you don't mind me asking: how much did it cost?

Does anyone know what a typical/reasonable price for the installation of front/rear springs? Would I need to change the shocks or any other parts if I switch to Eibach springs?

The fronts aren't that bad. All you will need is a spring compressor. You can rent one of those or I have one.

The Eibachs aren't that aggressive of a drop, so you wouldn't need a camber kit...That said, You will still probably blow your stock shocks in about a year. There are a couple adjustable shock options out there that are a nice alternative to coilovers if you don't need the height adjustability.

a spring compressor from autozone ect, will not work with eibach's,the spring is too compact..you will have to take your fronts to a shop(good yr,pepboys.ect.) to have the spring put on the shock with a hydrolic spring machine..this costs about 50.00 i recommend doing them urself or having another member assist and saving some money

If you want to pay a shop to get it done, call Slowmotion Motorsports. They are located in the north part outside Columbus. Www.slowmotionmotorsports.com

Any recommendations for a camber kit? Is it necessary? What does a camber kit do?

If I were to just have the springs installed would it be just as expensive to have shocks installed at a later date or is it an easier/cheaper install? The reason I'm asking is that if I'm going to have to pay around $150 for the spring install and then $150 for the shock install, it might make more sense to buy shocks and have it all installed at once.

Thanks for the help so far, guys!

I ordered the SPC camber kits and toe bolts through SLowmotion Motorsports. I also had them install them and the have and alignment shop nearby that does quality work!

I also just had Tokico HPs installed and the combination is awesome! Great ride quality, a bit stiffer than stock, but firm and in control.

and to answer your question, if you can get your shocks before the install, its easier to do both at the same time.

and cheaper so you wont have to get two alignments.

When is the next installation GTG? Just ordered my Tokicos to pair up w/ 350Z springs. Thinking about getting the SPL compression bushings in as well, though I'd need to find a shop that can press the old ones out/press the new ones in.

BTW: I have spring compressors and can bring them along.

I'm all for an installation GTG, but I don't have anywhere to host it since I live in an apartment complex with a tiny parking lot. Anybody willing to volunteer your place to host? I wanna get these springs installed.

itgogitrev, could you help me install my springs? I'm pretty much clueless and haven't done anything like this before so it'd be more like me watching and helping whenever I can, but I can try
