I got my deployment dates last week
So last week I accepted a job (officially) in Kabul Afghanistan. I'm going to start my journey on September 22 2010. Ill be going to Atlanta GA to GDIT headquarters first for 2 days for in-processing then to Ft. Benning for a week for CRC training (get you ready for deployment). From there I will be flying to Dubai then to Kabul.
During my stay Ill get 3 leave dates. Work 3 months, get 3 days off, work another 3 months and get 21 days off then another 3 months for 3 more days off then back home after the last 3 months. I'm thinking of going back to Dubai for the 3 day weekends and then to Australia and Fiji for the long 21 day leave.
Has anyone here been to Australia?
Oh, and there were some people talking about doing a dinner meet from Ky Subaru Club before I leave. I was thinking a trip to the Hofbrauhaus
I would like it if my OGC peeps would also meet up in Newport. I'm thinking Saturday the 18th. Everything is tenative right now, really depends on how many people are interested.
The more the better, who might be up for this?
