Music
Alright guys, here's something I am incredibly passionate about..... MUSIC!
Right out of college, I played in a touring rock band for 5 years (named "Guest", you can find some shows on archive.org). Lived in a bus, traveled from Vermont to Florida playing gigs 5 days a week in college towns, partied (A LOT) and had an all around great time doing it! Then of course I got a little older and decided I wanted to have a family and a real life and so I had to let it go.
I still get out and play with the old bandmates from time to time in Columbus (actually there is a show on Friday 5/20 at Ruby Tuesday on Summit) that I won't be playing in (haven't had time to get my chops in line lately) but will be attending to watch my buddies rock it out. Come on up if you can.
For those of you who know anything about Phish or other jam bands, that was the kind of music we played, though with a little more of an electronic vibe than Phish. I played mostly rythm guitar and sang.
Now what I really wanted this thread to be about was a discussion about what kinds of music you guys are into.
I'll go first:
I'm into pretty much anything but country. I've listened to bluegrass (and actually play the mandolin as well), rap and R&B and Electronica, Rock n. Roll (used to be a DJ for a classic rock radio station), Jam Bands like Grateful Dead, Phish, Widespread Panic, etc.
Right now I am mostly into Indy Bands, Electronic, UK Bands etc. like:
The Kooks
Broken Bells
The Shins
Death Cab for Cutie
Daft Punk
Flaming Lips
Florence and the Machine
Gorillaz
Julian Casablancas
Nada Surf
New Pornographers
Passion Pit (LOVE THIS BAND)
Kings of Convenience
Letting Up Despite Great Faults
Mackintosh Braun
Miike Snow (probably my favorite band right now, from the UK)
Phantogram
Phoenix
Postal Service
Ra Ra Riot
The Rifles
Rilo Kiley
Rogue Wave
The Script
Sufjan Stevens
Thievery Corp
Zero 7
and more and more and more...........
A new band I recently found from South Africa that has an incredible sound is Die Antwoord (they are incredibly vulgar, but if you're into the sounds of old school Slim Shady and like hip hop or old school rap, you'll LOVE this band!)
Here are links to a few youtube videos of their sound.

In your face (not sure what the video has to do with anything, but you get to hear their sound)
Crazy ****! But a great sound.
