I plan on using chase bays and a GM ECU w/tune for all my wiring. I want to retain AC and use as much LS2 stuff as I can. And yeah, definately would be nice to have all the money right now. Instead of being stuck buying a few parts here and a few parts there. I am shooting for 420-450hp at the rear wheel NA on stock 243 heads, 6800-7200 rpm redline.

Should have an update next weekend. I am having a hard time getting the rod bolts off. Need to make up a good vice setup. Also, I will be making my piston ring squaring tool this week. Last tool I need.
as long as the motor being swapped is from the same model year or newer than the chassis and retains "stock emissions devices" and OBD2 it will pass cali smog.

Checked crankshaft end play. Looks good. I also finally got the piston rod bolts loosed up so I can start assembly of the bearings

Time for an update!!
The rod bearings and connecting rod/piston assembly.

Dropped in the rod bearings.

Bearings are ready for clearance inspection. Seven more to go...

All the Piston/Rod assemblies ready for rings.

My piston ring squaring tool works!!

Piston ring #3 all gapped up and ready to go.

The full piston assembly rings, rods, bearings, and pistons. The whole caboodle ready for assembly.

Piston rings installed.

After a bitch of time figuring out how to get my ring compressor working correctly (wouldnt close all the way) on piston #1 the rest dropped in nicely.

Bottom end all buttoned up!

ARP Rod bolt close up!

All Pistons In!!! Time to find a cam!!!

btw this build is sponsored by budwieser. 5 hrs of working on a motor cannot be had without a few cans of beer.
