1994 Mitsu 3000GT VR-4 Twin Turbo, So-Cal, all stock, 96k miles

***Price Updated***

Guys,

It looks like the time has come for me to part with my 3000GT VR-4.

I am the second owner of this car, and have put about 2500 of the miles on the car. The original owner of the car was an elderly couple that liked the way it looks more than the performance of the car; everything was set to "touring" and "off" instead of "sport" and "active when I originally saw the car.

Some basic information on this car.

The 3000GT was Mitsubishi's technology showcase in the 90's Japanese car race. The direct competitors are the 300ZX (Z32), MKIV Supra, and RX-7 FD3S ( Strange how all of these are twin turbo? ). The 300ZX and my VR-4 are both bi-turbo setups (similar to the 335), while the Supra and RX-7 are both sequential turbo setups.

The turbo setup and design were LIGHT YEARS ahead of it's time. Put it this way. The VR-4 has a 3.0L TT setup, and the new 335 has a 3.0L TT setup. The VR-4 is rated for more power and more torque!!! It's a design 15 years older! Full boost is achieved by 2200 RPM, and you'll start to have boost by 1700 RPM.

The car is geared ultra tall. 4th, 5th and 6th gears are all overdrives. 80MPH on the fwy in 6th gear will be rou ghly 2150 RPMs; 3rd gear is good for ~115MPH and 4th is good for ~145MPH. I don't know what 5th, and 6th are good for because I've never gone that fast.

The car is rated at 320HP, and over 300 ft/lbs of torque. As commonly known, the 90's Japanese sports cars are VERY easy to mod for power. I originally purchased this car to keep in STOCK condition, and have stuck to that.

Some interesting techonologies on this car:

4 Wheel steering. This is similar to the 4was available on the G35/G37, and Super HICAS on the r32/r33/r34 GT-R.

AWD. This is the only 90's Japanese sports car with AWD. The AWD system is Rear Biased.

Active Aero. At 50+ MPH, the rear spoiler will tilt up, and a front chin spoiler will come down to generate more downforce. The Aero will retract once you drop back under 30 MPH. The Aero can also be manually actived and deactived.

Tuneable exaust. Yes, this is a FACTORY tuneable exhaust. You can switch between Touring and Sport modes. Touring will make the exhaust so quiet that you will hear ONLY the engine. The turbos will also take longer to spool. Sport mode opens up the exhaust so that it is much more prominant, and allows the turbos to spool up faster.

Electronically Adjustable Suspension. The suspension can be adjusted on the fly with a switch in the car. In Touring mode, the car will ride smooth over the road at the cost of handling response and additional body roll. In Sport mode, the suspension stiffens up to virtually eliminate body roll, and response is sharply crispened up.

The car currently has just under 96k miles on it, and has been dealer serviced its entire life. It still has the original paint in excellent condition. There is minor wheel rash on two of the wheels (easily repaired), and there is wear on the driver's left bolster (normal from the seat belt).

In terms of equipment, the car has the following; it is all factory and original:

Automatic driver's window
FULL equalizer, Infinity sound system
CD changer (8 disc)
AC (older refirgirant; SUPER cold... I actually can't turn it on full blast for long cuz it gets too cold)
Alarm and kill switch
Power bolsters and Lumbar Support
Factory BBK (4 pot front, 2 pot rear)
Fog Lights (totally functional)

Everything in the car is Working and Functional!!! The car is in absolutely amazing condition for a 15 year old car.

Please send me a PM for more details or give me a call on my cell @ seven-one-four, three-one-three, four-two-two-eight.

I am asking $11,500 for the car. Pink slip is in hand.

P.S. The car *is* faster than a 6MT G35/G37.

there are a lot of VR-4s out there that are not running too well.

My car has no boost leaks, compression test is near perfect, etc.

VR-4 pricing is VERY condition dependant; you can pick up a not-too-hot VR-4 for very cheap.

It's a great car for what it is, but if you can beat your co-worker's VR-4 with just bolt ons on your 6MT G, his car isn't running too well.

VR-4's trap ~104 in the 1/4 mile... significantly higher than a G.

Bro, your car bought back my old memory, I sold my old VR-4 for my 04 G. If the price is right, I will buy back VR-4 for daily car.

The whole point of this is the fact that the car is untouched.

Believe me, if I ran across a RX-7 or Supra that was never modified, I'd be all over it...
