I was there last year in January. First time I've been back in over 20 years ( I'm 28) I don't speak Mandarin or Taiwanese. I stayed in Taipei and my family is from Kaohsiung. I love it there. Funny I was in a the bullet train station and Kaohsiung and I was walking and there was class of little kids and they all stopped and started pointing at me with their mouths open like I was a freak

 

I'm from Kaohsiung too!

 

lol they dont get to see many foreigners in kaoshung.
