I would like to take this time to make a quick point.
There is a difference between "rednecks" and "white trash." I’m from Texas and we have both. But as you venture to the south east of the country....Alabama northern Florida and all the surrounding areas, you find large populations of the illusive peoples known as "white trash."
Rednecks and white trash both tend to drive pickup trucks, dip snuff, shoot guns, and drink cheap beer; however most of the similarities end there.
Rednecks, at least the ones in the Texas/New Mexico area seem to pride themselves on being hard working, clean, God fearing people. Cowboys if you will.
White trash like to play horse shoes with toilet seats, collect broken down cars which they proudly place on blocks, and look around town for the cheapest prices on cartons of Salem lights for their mothers/mother in laws (most likely named something like Myrtle) to chain smoke oin their trailer house porch...overlooking their car garden.
