I dont know if you ever got a response but the tiny 12mm bolt on the front rotors are to keep the stagered coupe wheels from getting rotated. If you look in the back of your coupe wheels the front shave notches and the rears dont. It doesnt actually hold the rotor on.

Thanks but I figured that out. I have a similar bolt on my WV Passat. It's just flush with the rotor and this one sticks out (which is better)
