Smile Updated my IP with Sun Auto and Greddy

Hey what's up everyone. Just wanted to share some pics of some newly installed stuff and some new random shots of my G.

Here's the Sun Auto CyberSpeed Hyper Force System. I've had it on for a couple of weeks and have noticed better engine response especially above 3000 rpm. It defintely pulls harder up top. I don't think I've gained much horsepower but it does sure look nice in the engine bay!

This is the Greddy Carbon Kevlar air diversion panel. Can't say it's improved any performance on the car other than adding some JDM bling to the engine bay. I guess that worth at least 20 whp right?

The current look of the engine bay...

Here's some random pics from this weekend...

Thanks for your time. Take care everyone.

Looks good! Is the sun hyperforcesystem like a grounding kit, the install looks similar? where did you get the air diversion panel?

izmir- the Hypeforce system is more or less an ignition stabilizer system that allows for a more efficient spark. Something about controlling back EMF... It's not an ignition amplifier nor a grounding kit, but it was a fairly easy install mod that has netted me sufficient gains in engine response throughout the entire rev range. Even my dad noticed it after driving it after the install. The engine feels more willing to rev. Kinda reminds me of my previous S2000 with VTEC. Once it hits about 3000 it pulls nicely to redline. I picked up the Hyperforce system and Greddy panel from Marty at Injected Peformance. Maybe he can hook you up too!

I just waiting to get the ARC bar and CF engine cover later this year, then maybe next year I'll put some tint and get it kitted up. Been thinking about a JP CO Vizage front lip, KDV Burnout sides and rear pieces with the Impul rear spoiler. Then maybe just maybe get some HKS LS+ coilovers. Any thoughts or suggestions where to get this stuff for cheap? Gonna be broke for so long...

Take care

Any way you can take the cover off the blue box to see what's underneath?

redlude- the blue box has nothing but wires inside it I think. Nothing really worth looking at. Underneath the entire unit itself is the mounting bracket that it's attached to. What exactly do you mean when you say 'underneath'?

Take care

I'm just trying to figure out how it works, it claims to regulate voltage so there must be something more to it than just some wires

The blue unit has a large cord that plugs into the main harness (sold separetly). If you look at the pic, it's got only one cord coming out of it. This cord plugs into the main harness which connects with the factory coil packs. The main harness has six pairs of coil connectors (12 connectors in all, but all paired up). For each pair it connects with each coil pack (6 total coil packs cause we have a V6). You plug the factory coil connector into one of the new connectors and the other new connector into the factory coil pack. The new connectors are now between the factor connector and factory coil pack. This his how it can absorb the back EMF or whatever. The real trick here is that the new harness also connects to the the battery to help ground the entire system. In the close up pic of the unit, you'll see a small thin black wire run from the main harness plug at the connecting point to under the mounting bracket back to the battery.

In short, the blue box serves as a hub for the main harness. The main harness is a buffer of sorts between the factory coil connector and factory coil packs. By having the entire system grounded/connected to the battery, the system can absorb and stabilze excess voltage or irregular frequencies in the ignition system to allow for a cleaner and more consistent spark. Someone with more knowledge about this topic will chime in hopefully... Anyways, I hope this helps. Let me know what's still confusing about the system...

Take care

So which wires are actually connected to the ground going back to the battery? If you understand EMF, then you'll know its not that easy to get rid of, and usually requires a little more than extended wires and a ground. Thats why I want to see if there is anything in the box

I believe that since the 'battery wire' is part of the main harness, all the plug connectors are part of the grounding process. The 'battery wire' main only serve to connect and power the blue unit.

I forgot to mention that all six pairs of connectors from the main harness get individual 'actual' grounding wires (6 total grounding wires). These grounding wires actually get grounded to the car. The 3 on the passenger side are connected to a bolt that also serves as an already established grounding point. The 3 on the driver's side get grounded to an intake tube mounting point.

About the back EMF, I truly don't know a da*n thing about this stuff. That's why I was hoping somebody who had some expertise with this topic would come and help us out. I could try to open the blue box, but I have a feeling I won't be able to put it back together if you know what I mean...

BTW redlude I love your SP1's. Looks real nice on your whip!

Take care
