Talking 06 Projector headlight Install

Installed some 2006 (Recall update projectors) on the G this weekend, the light output is so much better and got a decent cutoff now. The driver side harness clip was a bitch to get off, but besides that install wasn't very hard...a little over an hour to do.

05 non projectors on the left (scattered light output), 06 Projectors on the right (cutoff):

stock 05 headlight:

06 projector:

05:

06:

either the pictures arent too good, or there really isnt a big difference? I can see the cut off lines, but not too different. maybe more pictures from different lengths would help?

This pic shows it all, Scattered light above the beam on the left 2005 headlight....no light above the cutoff on right 2006 projectors.

BIG difference.

you are too close to the wall in those pics, cutoff pics should be taken at 20+ft

also, if you are using the same 800k bulbs in the 05 projectors, then that is the problem and your comparison is invalid. the 05 headlights use a d2r bulb with a ceramic shield on the bulb to prevent that very glare that you are saying the 06's eliminate. A comparison of the stock d2r bulbs against the 06 projectors with d2s bulbs is how it should have been done.

PS. 8000k bulbs FTL

according to redlude, 4200k is stock.

unless you upgraded to 4300k, i assumed you were talking about stock hid bulbs.

but whatever, it makes no difference here.

8000k in the 05 projectors??? what the hell are you talking about, Also your simply stating something I already know. The ceramic shield on the bulbs aka "Glare Strip" D2R bulbs are still in the stock 05 NON projector Headlights.

PS: This IS a compairison of the stock D2R vs D2S HIDS....I actually haven't installed the 8000K bulbs yet so I was fibbing a bit hahaha people believe anything they read on the internet I swear. Funny how you act like you know what your talking about, I just took these shots on the Tungsten WB setting in my camera so the lights would appear to have a blueish light output.
