First attempt at HDR

hey guys, i'd like some comments (good or bad) with my first attempt at HDR via CS2. I'm 99% sure this came out bad. I shot it in JPEG, since CS2 doesn't support the Nikon D40x (only D40). If someone is familiar with HDR, please let me know where i went wrong. Thanks a lot

Dont know much about HDR, but I've seen a few proper pictures... you're wheels and underneath the car area needs to be more lit up.

the sky is too bright on the left..

you're suppose to shoot multiple shots from low aperture to high aperture..

I did that; i shot around 8 different frames. What I read was to adjust the film speed, not so much the aperture, as the aperture could lead to different depths of field.

I know the sky is too bright, i played around with the color settings a bit too much, lol

i usually shoot @ -2, 0, +2 for HDR photos. you can do -1.5 and +1.5 if you'd like, too.

can you post the best original jpg? let's see what we can do with that.

Here's a second attempt at HDR, this time I only used 3 shots.

Set it to A mode, turn on bracketing in the menu and set it to +/- 2. This is how i do it with my D50.

Calvin,

the picture you did turned out well (better than anything i could've done at my current level). what did you adjust? color? saturation? contrast? I've only had CS2 for about 2 days, so in addition to learning how to use the program, i'm also learning the different features (read: RGB and whatever else they have there). Tips are greatly appreciated.
