One of the guys at the tire shop thinks it might be the wheel, the other says the tire. Tire looked fine but you never know. If I wasn't running as much of a stretch it prob would be fine. Wish I could fit a 235/30 up front but it will rub. And a 225/35 will as well and the one time I did have the 225/35 it didn't look right, had a gap, but I think that could have been the tire shop that was mounting it.

since the tire questions are popping up in this thread. going to be running 18x10, 18x12.5 want to run hankook ventus evo. definitely doing 285/30/18 rear, but what up front? their options are a little weird. 225/40/18 seems like the only likely choice. any thoughts on 225/40 front and 285/30 rear?

Fronts should be fine even with the 40 series, just remove the fender liner screws and pinch them flat.

Ernie (FlyingLumpia) is running a flush 9/10 setup with those tire sizes yours would have a little more stretch than him.
probably need to wait until I get coils to go that aggressive. Like you said, need to be able to control dampening. Also, Levon choped Chris's GT-Vs on my car. Not liking it.

fck I regret going OEM style coilovers, front is super easy to adjust don't have to screw around with springs preload is already set and there, but I been dicking around for a few days now trying to fix the rear height, cannot seem to hit the right combination of lowering the strut and spring cup thingy properly.
I dropped the strut all the way down and I lowered the spring as much as safely possible, the damn thing can only lower so far without getting loose possibly falling the fck off or something, I would literally have to hold the spring in place while my brother lowered the car to make sure it sits where it's supposed to be.
From the looks of just how loose the springs sit if I lower the spring anymore it won't even hold my car up or very little which would put extreme stress on the struts.

you guys got any tips ?

Adjust the spring where u want the ride height.. leave the strut out lower the car.. and measure from.the top mount to the lower mount and adjust the strut and install it..

^ ok thanks I get everything except the part where you said measure from top mount to lower mount, what am I measuring to? the gap from the spring ?
Do you mean match the same height as the spring mount ? the strut and spring exact same height ?

If so I understand that 99%, but is there any videos showing how to do it just so I'm 100% sure.... You Tube really failed me on this, couldnt find anything specific enough

basically all you need to do is adjust the spring accordingly and then jack the control arm up until the spring is snug in there.

then adjust the length of the strut to that.

Take the strut out.. Set the ride height with the spring.. Drop the car without the strut on the car.. once u set where u want your ride height to be.. measure from the top strut mount to lower strut mount on the car and adjust the strut to the length u measured and install the strut on the car..
