Aggressive Wheels & Stretched Tires: Post 'Em Up! [[Some NSFW]]
thanks, I know it's stupid but I been dreaming for their GT/LMP spec Magnesium rims in a normal bolt pattern for street cars, imagine these race rims on a street car ![Bowdown](https://g35driver.com/forums/images/smilies/bowdown.gif)
I would assume if you got a full blown race team participating in any of these race series, custom orders from BBS are available no matter what they are

The magnesium actually makes things worse. A lot of shops turned him down to mount even the most mild stretch on it. (225/40 on 9.5 and 265/35 on 11) They said they won't work with Magnesium wheels.

they can crack from bumps/potholes much easier than aluminum. my uncle has a race bike with mag wheels and he was saying they xray the wheels to check for hair line cracks developing.
They are really meant for track use, not at all for daily driving and heavily discouraged for stretching since prying on them is usually frowned upon (tire removal)
I learned a tonne about them just talking to my tire guy that refused to mount them.
As Cturnbull said they are prone to cracking BUT they are super lightweight and dissipate heat extremely well. A LOT better then aluminum wheels.

Just to add what the others have said true Magnesium wheels are no longer made instead wheels are a magnesium alloy. Magnesium also corrodes very easily, but more interesting is how flammable it is, it's difficult to ignite in a solid form like a wheel but once burning it is nearly impossible to put out, water makes it worse . IIRC the manufacturing process is pretty crazy too something about it being explosive/flammable in molten form when exposed to air, I don't recall the details but I remember it being quite intense.
