That VW is retarded, who in their right mind would want that? I feel bad for the tire guys that had to put those on, a lot of work for... THAT :S

It's only for the LOOK. It's the same reason guys hump dumb pretty girls. You know nothing productive is going to come from it, but you love their look. Originally Posted by redlude97

I've addressed this in another thread, but thought I should ask the agressive setup experts.. I'm gonna run 19x9.5 +17 and 19x10.5 +24 real soon and already have spacers on: +15 in the front and +10 in the back. Would I be safe running 245/19/35 fronts and 275/19/35 rear with a 1.5" drop? I'm not going for a super agressive setup, but something that'll ride safe and sits flush.

fronts are ok since you are only 1.5 inch dropped, but you won't be able to dump them with those offsets. rear can go more aggressive, you could go with 20mm spacers

Do any tire shops give you guys hard time for setups like these?
Is this considered safe? Do cops or DOT ever bothered anyone for such setup?
Do shops that mount tires like that for you have you sing any kind of waiver that they are not responsible if tire fails and falls of the rim?
I'm not sure but I assume les schwab, discount tire, firestone and other major tire shops would not stretch tires at all due to the safety reasons.

Its safe to stretch if thats what you're asking? DOT age on the tire is more of a concern, old tires can crack, bubble, etc. My tires just leaks air, I have to pump air pretty much every week.
I havent seen that many G's with extreme stretches, but mostly z's.
you dont have to sign any waiver. Normal tire shops wont stretch them for you, even mildly is because they just dont want any liability, but its mostly because they dont want to scratch your rims mounting, or dont have the tools to mount it.
I havent heard any cases from the cops, well just one, and its the GS...picture is in this thread with the wheels way pass the fenders, kind of like the VW.
