They might be willing to sell you a second bar to put in there.

If you are going that far, just weld in some solid stuff!

Am I nuts or doesn't that seem like a great idea though? Is it just overkill and unnecessary?

It would most likely be over kill, but would not hurt to try it.

Damnit, I just thought about my subwoofer boxes. They flow right where this is going to be. Looks like I'll be drilling holes through them and doing a little bit of fiberglass work... The price we pay, right

I've done that for other people's cars before. What works well is to install a peice of PVC or ABS pipe through the box. That way it is rigit and you only have to worry about sealing up the two holes on each side. Carpet and liquid nails works well for that part. Then install the mounts in the car, run the bar through the box and install both.

I saw this thread sometime back (when it started) and thought “oh joy, another coupe mod ”…

Thank you Darren and Dave for pointing me back to it for the sedan!!! (but not you Tim, even though we’ve been dying for more bracing since the GT 4-point mid brace no-go)

I’m IN!!!

Luckily I built the boxes myself ~1.75 cu ft each = 3.5' with 3" ports

That would be a very short pipe. Maybe 1/4" on each box. Remember, I built my boxes in the corners of my trunk so I could still have a usable trunk.
Maybe you do remember. I'll have to see how much PVC is here. Probably not much.

That's funny. There is more sedan guys signed up than coupe guys. Guess it's because we aren't used to having an option i.e. we know to jump on it while we can. Case in point, the Kurookie Z bumper is being discontinued
