I prefer 10+ second exposures for night time rig shots, inside or out. During the day I'll do anywhere from 2 seconds to 1/6.
Thanks Cal. Engine wasn't on in this shot. The rear is OOF due to the fact that I was doing this shot myself so I shot it on an incline so it would roll in neutral, but the incline was a bit too steep. So once I'd get the car rolling (with me in the drivers seat of course) it would start going too fast and I would have to brake and that would cause camera shake. I couldn't figure out how to get a smooth constant slow roll. Also my EMT pole is 3/4", I suspect if I got a thicker pole for my rig it would be more stable (but more heavy). EMT poles are so cheap I think I'm just going to get a thicker one to try it out.

I am doing some more shots today, but I'll have someone with me, so I'll get them to push the car and we'll see how they turn out. Thanks for the tips.

Cool, are you building a suction cup based rig? Post some pics up of your rig once you have it done. Looking forward to seeing your rig shots.
