UPDATED

DIY for the Nameless's Headlamp Outline LED efx

Hi all… umm here’s my first DIY here in G35

I really don’t know how to start this so I’ll get straight to the point…

1. Dismantle the lights… well if you don’t know how to then I suggest to search in this forum or get a copy of the infiniti service manual…
2. Get some materials ready:-

a. Sandpaper (I used 2 grits 60 and 360 but its up to you)

b. Transparent Vinyl Double Sided tape (very important)

c. 2 x 60cm LED Strip Light. (Your choice of color, the more flexible the better

d. A 12V source for testing, I used a bosch cordless drill battery
e. Paitence… ‘

3. Firstly you will need to remove the studs marked in the diagram 1 , only stud 1 and 2, for this i used the 60Grit sandpaper and sand hard to clear this part out..

Diagram 1

4. Then sand paper the entire strip down with the 360Grit Sandpaper to allow light to pass thru. (refer diagram 2)

Diagram 2

5. Check all sanding area and place the led facing the sanded area (hook up a 12V power source) to see light transmission, every led should pass thru, any blockage should be sanded out to remove unevenness of light output,

6. apply the transparent double sided tape on the area to light up. I suggest the led should be parallel to the back housing to maintain the straightness and to clear the side fender

look closely on this pic, the double sided with the backing peeled

7. now lay the LED facing into the lights, following the line in diagram 2. (A reminder to make sure the position is 100% correct before laying down.. the LED strip is fo flimsy that it tears if you want to pull it out.. and the DS tape i got was sticky as hell)
Sorry I was so excited with the light output I forgot to take pictures here…

8. get some black stickers and stick up the remaining areas which were sanded down and is not covered by the LED. I just sticked over everything including the LED so light would not escape fron the sides…

9. hook up the LED wires to the nightlamp and youre ready to go..

10. Reinstall everything and go Showoff!

Looks very nice.

Reminds me of the Phillips LCD Tv's with their background light.
