My trip to NYC
I recently went to NY from December 21-25. I suprised my GF on Thanksgiving and told her we were going to New York for Christmas. I haven't been since I went with my parents when I was 14 and she has never been. She's always wanted to go and she loves Christmas time, so I thought what better way to suprise her and propose up there while I'm at it. We stayed in Manahattan...The New Yorker to be exact. We had a blast! We did a ton of walking. We only took the subway once because my gf at the beginning of the trip, fiancee by the end, wasn't comfortable doing it and I wanted to see as much of the city as possible. Hope you all enjoy the pictures...I took 371 of them with my XTi and 269 with her Canon SD770IS.
Day 1, I used Lauren's Canon SD770IS
Day 2 with my XTi, we walked from our hotel on 34th up to 72nd in Central Park, where they were having "The Hills" taping at Tavern on the Green.
Macy's on 34th. Wholey poop, it was crowded!

The high was 27 that day

New York Public Library

We sure do look like we are from Florida...

Penguins are a weird obsession of mine

Rockefeller Center

That's kind of where I proposed

Rockefeller ice skating rink

Juicy Couture

She's a Juicy girl...Juicy Couture was part of my propsal

Bloomingdale's

St. Patricks Cathedral

NYC at night from Central Park

Attempted snow angel

Central Park

Day 3 with my XTi: we took the subway down to Battery Park and you can kind of tell our track...we went to Ground Zero, the Brooklyn Bridge, China Town and Little Italy, through Union Square to the Flat Iron Building, and then finally the Empire State Building. A straight through walk from beginning to end is 6.5 miles, so we walked A LOT that day!
A piece of a statue that once stood at the WTC

Battery Park

World War II memorial (used my Sigma 17-70 lens, shot at 17mm)

(used my Canon 50-250 lens, shot at 250mm)

Statue of Liberty

An abandoned pier

NWS! haha

Eskimo V.2

On our way to Ground Zero...the WTC once stood up ahead on the right

The definition of gluttony

It's hard to believe it's been over 7 years and this is what it looks like

"Dedicated to those who fell and to those who carry on"

Has anyone seen Robin Williams: Live on Broadway? If so...remember the panda joke?

Brooklyn Bridge

Pictures are worth a thousand words...or if you pay a little extra, tens of thousands of sperm

Really???

Union Square

Flat Iron building

Panoramic on top of the Empire State building...where all these next photos were taken. It was quite difficult shooting with no tripod and the high that day was 19 with wind chills at 0 to -15 degrees!

Should have told me you were coming into NYC. I would have made you wait till new years, and put you in Times Square! Either way, very nice pics, and glad you had fun. Your lucky, those are INCREDIBLE! I would stare at them all day! haha

I worked in NYC for 10yrs and never seen it in that light.
I guess since its a every day occurrence you just walk right by it.
