Nice Cal really enjoying the shots of your "strobist journey".
I would have like to see more of the car and details on the car in focus. Maybe next time you could try shooting a few at f/4 or f/5.6 and boosting the ISO up to 200 or 400 respectively. That should give you the same exposure from the strobes (I think) with a deeper DoF.

^^^as soon as i get my tripod back i will start shooting with smaller apertures. i left it at home in LA (doh!).
i'm just a sucker for shallow DOF's. but i guess it's time to start breaking old habits as they don't apply here.
i also need to work on background separation/rim light.

i wish i could figure out how to light the car with just 2 strobes. it's possible...others do it all the time. but no matter where i place them i can't get the light to cover the entire car! i'd really like to get that 3rd strobe behind the car for rim light (background separation).
