So with your reasoning. You think it is ok for a base V6 mustang to put Cobra or GT500 body kit on? I would laugh at them too.
WOW, ppl here just do not much gray mass between the ears, no, I said they were related, cousins if you will.

There is nothing that ties the GTR to the G35, huh? So the 89-94 SKYLINE GTR R32, 95-98 SKYLINE GTR R33, and 99-02 SKYLINE GTR R34, all were basically special edition SKYLINES (G35), the R35 is the first that was not. But if you look closely, all the past Skylines (G35's) were straight 6's. But the 03 Skyline (G35) went to a V-6, HOLY SH*T BATMAN!!! So did the R35, if you knew anything about engines and how they work or are built, you would notice that R35 GTR Engine the VR38DETT has a lot in common with the vq35hr bottom end. It also has even more in common with the Nissan Fairlady 380 RS (Japan Only, 300 produced) where the VQ35HR was bored out to a 3.8 liter to produce 345 naturally aspirated hp.

The Nissan Skyline (スカイライン in Japanese) is a line of compact cars originally produced by the Japanese carmaker Prince Motor Company starting in 1957 and subsequently by Datsun after the two companies merged in 1966. It is currently available in either coupé, or sedan body styles, with the wagon form being dropped in 1989 with the introduction of the R32 platform.

Iterations R30 to R34 of the Skyline are still popular tuner cars for Japanese car enthusiasts from the 1980s to today, especially with available features such as straight-6 engines, turbochargers, and the high-performance GT-R trim.[1] While not distributed in the United States, the Skyline's prominence in video games, movies and magazines resulted in many such cars being imported there from 1999 to late 2005, after Motorex petitioned the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration to allow 1990-1999 GT-Rs and GTSs to be imported, at the condition that they were modified to meet United States Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards.[2][2] [3][4]

NISMO Type 380RS (2007)

Released as the road version for Japanese market of the Type 380RS-Competition race car , it includes the VQ35HR engine stroked and bored to 3.8-litre, rated 257 kW (350 PS/350 hp) @ 7200 rpm and 397 N·m (40.5 kgf·m/293 lbf·ft) @ 4800 rpm torque. Brembo disc brakes are fitted, as are Bridgestone Potenza RE-01R tires (245/40R18 in front, 275/35R19 in the rear) with RAYS wheels. Front and rear dampers come from Yamaha.

NISMO Type 380RS is priced 5.397 million (5.14 million+tax) yen ($38695 USD).[17] Only 300 cars were produced.[18]

PPL on here put Nismo 350Z wheels on their G's all the time and the G is not a Z! Exactly, you can use kits and such from other cars of the same heritage, the Mustang Gt front looks better than the stock, the cobra looks better than the GT, and the saleen looks better than the Cobra, so if I had a 6 cyl mustang (which I would NEVER own) I would think about putting a Saleen front clip on it. Not put saleen all over it, but just the front clip.

Yes and it the exact same as the gt or even 6 cyl except the part that says cobra, so why would you want that for aesthetics?

the new v6 stang is pretty sweet..lol

i once saw a new edge mustang (99-04) dressed up as a cobra, badges and all but they left the oem v6 muffler on it with the little tiny downward pointing tip and the other side was empty

sadly my friend traded his 05 3.5SE 5 speed altima for an 03 mustang which he thought was a mach 1, paid mach 1 money for it, then he called me and said he bought a mach 1 (which is the 300hp DOHC 32 valve 4.6 v8 that runs low 13s if you guys don't know) so I looked up the dealer's listing online and it was a GT with a mach 1 emblem and a hood scoop..lol, he paid like 18 grand for it too when it was worth maybe 12 or 13 at the time...we felt bad for him but that what you get for not being able to tell dohc valve covers from sohc valve covers..oh well...i was concerned when he said it felt slower then his altima..lol

this too

Yes, now see I am not into the whole emblem up my car to make it faster, now if I had a Mustang GT, and bought a Mach 1 crate engine and had it put in, along with all the other performance parts that made a Mach 1 a mach 1, then yeah, I may put Mach 1 emblems on it, just like some of these guys that take a base model Cuda, drop in a hemi and badge it Hemi Cuda.....Like I said if I bought a 07 350Z with the vq35hr and bored out to 3.8 liters along with all the other performance mods, I would think of putting 380 RS Fairlady Z on the thing. Some people want those cars but they are unattainable without LOTS of CASH, then I would have the first and only left hand drive 380RS, yes it wouldn't be a real but it would do what a 380RS would do, as long as you have it all done up right there is nothing wrong with it, now the whole Aston Martin front end, ok, yes, that is terrible, but hey it is no different than this old man that lives around here, he has a real old Volvo sedan and he must of chopped off the back doors and trunk and put a pick up truck bed on the back. It looks really good, can not even tell. I just do not understand why on here it is not O.K. to be different, some ppl may think you are an ugly person, but others may think you are hot, who cares, as long you the person are happy!!!

yeah if it makes you happy do it, just don't get mad when you end up in the ricer/ugly g35 thread

personally I wouldn't badge upgrade even if my car was the same or better as the model above it. I don't have any issue with Nissan Skyline 350GT badging because that isn't upgrading, thats just putting the the badges that would be on the car if it were sold in japan, its not like a GT-R or a Type R emblem where you a upgrading to something better with an emblem, its a downgrade if anything. A lot of people would disagree with me on that too

I am glad you fell in love with Wikipedia. But the G35 still has almost NOTHING related to a GT-R except they are both made by Nissan. They share nothing. The VQ35 has nothing at all to do with a VR38. The VR38DETT motor actually was designed mostly based off the VRH35L from the Nissan R390 that contested the Le Mans 24 Hour endurance race. I have no idea where you got the idea they share the same bottom end. The Fairlady 380, like you said is nothing more than a bored out VQ.... still nothing at all to do with a VR38.

The G35 is a Skyline yes, congrats, but still not related to the GT-R in anyway. The G35 can be closer related to the FX or Murano, than it could a GT-R. Actually the EX is techincally the Skyline Crossover. They actually dropped the "Skyline" badge from the GT-R.

Are you going to say the EX35 SUV and GT-R are related now?

The Murano still has the VQ motor in it.

I really hope you were not serious about that second question. I hope you know it is not a real GT-R bumper. It is just a cheap fiberglass replica made to look like a GT-R. You can buy the same thing for 20 other cars, including the 350Z, Altima, Maxima.. even a Civic.

if the chasis are totally unrelated the bumper wouldn't bolt right up and line up with the headlights, there has to be some relation there.

sorta like these things compared to an r34 gt-r

Do you mean an R34 4door or a Kit car that looks like an R34 4door (what that photo is of)
