2nd attempt at a work log - My contraption ☢ G37S 6MT Sedan ☢

Sooo my last work log didn't last long, on top of the CLS55 having a ton of problems and issues with the finance so I had a friend of mine take over it... and several months later, this is what happened to it:

Lost traction on a patch of gravel, flipped, he's alright.

On to the next one.

I'll start a log so I don't have to create a new thread for every single mod I do... *AHEM*

Some pictures are from my DSLR, some are from my phone or others cameras.

My log will mostly consist of simple cosmetic mods for now, I plan on doing the performance the right way later on.

As most of you know I got a 2010 G37S sedan on stick back in April.

Only pic of it stock, with the grille already off to get painted before 50 miles.

Dropped on H&R springs several days later at about 250 miles.

First week:
H&R Drop
Gloss black grille, foglight rings, trunk spoiler
Blacked out rear emblems
Blacked out window trim
G35NYC.com decals -- get yours !

First photoshoot:
Follow up on my '10 G37S 6MT & Quick Shoot

Second week:
Replaced the HID bulbs w/ 6K D2C, got H8 LED foglight bulbs, converted the 7443 into a 7440 for turn signal only, and 194 led bulbs, and replaced the license plate and interior light bulbs.

Exactly a month later:

Installed a ravspec roof wing, and did a quick shoot.

To be continued.

Detail to the "S"

Killed a pigeon

Saved a bird

****ed up my mirror... lol

And then a garbage truck or something of that sort owned me.

Tare down

, not so serious frame damage, no affect on the drive.

Parts arrived, half way assembled

While waiting for new headlights to arrive, borrowed some 09 headlights for fitment.

Where the frame was replaced and welded, roughtly 4-5" of it.

While waiting on the metal work to be finished... new grille arrived, first thing I did was start chopping up my old busted grille for pieces to make an emblemless grille.

Underneath the bars

Car was semi assembled and could be driven, after not driving it for a month and whipping a 2008 Chevy Cobalt which is the biggest ****ing hooptie I've ever driven (I'd rather drive a 1991 Nissan Sentra)... I couldn't resist to take the car for the weekend, regardless of it's condition: no plastics in the engine bay, no wheel well covers, no skirts, window trim, and bare metal.... I missed the car too much and really wanted to remind myself of what I was missing out on.

Took the car to AC and Seaside....

Following week, had the windshield replaced and ordered a seibon CF hood (it was cheaper than the "OEM-Aftermarket")

Don't have a pic of the installed windshield lol...

The next morning I woke up and said "I'm gunna go cut some holes in my hood"

- Ordered OEM E92 M3 vents

- Made a template

Cut the **** out of those holes... Vents are off a AW M3, they're going to be painted gunmetal, and will use OEM M3 mesh (Like $24/side from BMW)

Painted the window trim, taillights, and foglight rings gunmetal.

Had the car for 4th of July weekend, and dropped it off the following Tuesday.

Body Shop list:

Repair both doors
Paint both doors, both fenders, bumper, and A-pillars
Paint the hood, small fade into CF towards the top after the vents.
2-Tone Grille
3-Tone Headlights
Paint Emblems
Paint brake calipers
Paint CF trunk lip
3-Tone Mirrors

Alex and I masked off all the calipers, and prepped them for paint. Thought it'd be easier than removing them and then rebleeding them, but after masking the brakes off on the car, I'd rather take them off and rebleed them 5 times. Masking took nearly 3hrs, but it was perfect, masked off everything to the last screw, looks like if was taken off and painted off the car.

Don't ask till you see it finished, this is a base coat.

Decal'd up and clearcoated over.

Following day (5/8)

I'm cleaning up the engine bay as much as I could, and doing some deletions and semi-wire tucks.

- Both main harnesses will be tucked, so are the battery terminals.
- CAI Intakes (Injen for now - it was free and my stock ones were cracked)
- Relocated alarm horn
- Small relay on drive side box removed, and relay relocated
- Power steering fluid tank will be relocated to the front of the radiator
- Windshield washer system completely removed
- SxExCx's V36 prototype coolant overflow tank - polished
- Painted engine covers gunmetal
- Relocating VIN plate
- GTSpec Strut Brace - soon to order/ painted mounts lime green
- Steel braided radiator hose

No pics of the engine bay yet...

Here's some eye candy of the overflow tank.

Some lime green sexiness, I'm not keeping the housing nor projector like this btw.

Back to the shop where the car is...

Doors are almost done, wheels are back on, vent edges are smoothed out and filled in for a perfect fit. Rear is debadged, waiting for new emblems and trunk lip.

Taillights might be swapped back to stock for now.

Rims will be ordered in a few weeks... headlights will be slightly different.

Will update tomorrow.

Looks outstanding. I didn't think I would say that going through the pictures, but it really does look great.

Looks great and I think I have that same gun as your friend. Looks like an Accuspray 07HS.
