[1013MM] Presents: 1013MM Introduction... BMW 135i About To Get Into Wheel Whoring...
Hey guys! A lot of you might know me or don't know me. I'm John Zhang, the dude who runs 1013MM Photography and shoots a lot of BMWs on Canibeat. You might have also seen my shots in numerous online publications and printed magazines. BUT ANYWAY, I'm a noob here and here's my car...
2009 BMW 135i - ordered it and waited dam near a year for it to get delievered. Never test drove the car, just wanted something different. The car's not the greatest looking, nor the most aggressive looking car, but it has one thing. It's exclusiveness.
I kept it stock for a year.
Then 2010 came along and people wanted to sponsor me so I caved and went with a BMW x JDM theme
After that I stopped modding it for a while since I was more concentrated in my photography, but then I wanted to change it u a little so I started on the interior.
A custom M3 steering wheel and sports seats were added.
That was early 2010 and I thought I was done with the car, but apparently not... I've always wanted a lipped wheel for my car so I went with some 18" CCW LM20s along with a some JDM flare
:datass:
:datass:
Went with the whole monopoly theme here
A video I made during this stage
http://vimeo.com/22586629 I actually really liked the CCW stage, but decided to go for some more unique wheels, so while I was waiting on my new set of custom JDM wheels to be redone, I decided to sell the CCWs and got some filler wheels thanks to VMR wheels
This is how the car looks as of 7-9-11, I have a lot more stuff coming in and my new set of wheels will be test fitted next week, before polish and powdercoating
Here's something new... I swapped my mirrors for some more aggressive 1M mirrors.
VS
a little something something before they get mounted. . .
ummm... why is my car jacked up????
ummm... hello stud conversion, goodbye stud conversion....
ummm... OMG!!!! BBS BOXES!!!!!
wtf is going on here?!?!
BBS Impul. Made in Japan. Rare. Google it. You won't find anything about it. This was a rushed job. The caps are supposed to be gold too. Problem is I needed the wheels looking done by this saturday for Socal Euro. So the caps will be dipped in gold after the meet. For now, it is what it is....
Ended up with a 5mm spacer up front since 10mm were out of stock. Would have been flush flush with a 10mm though I think.
Here's how it looks now...
I'm somewhat known for my sticker whoring, but I always want to rep
Impuls going back in for some gold dipping love.
The stance....
just a few updates.... authentic everythanggg...
a few BBS accessories which were a PITA to find...
Authentic BBS lip stickers and valve caps. And a crappy pic to boot. . .

I don't usually show my car, unless a friend or a sponsor asks me to. Hell it only has 14,989 miles on it after more than 2.5 years. I've build the car for myself and myself only. Not for a magazine feature, not to replicate what everyone else is doing, and not for sponsors to be whored out. I truly believe that my car is an extension of my personally.... here is my first official feature thanks to Night-Import who asked if he could feature my car one afternoon after some frozen yogurt...

There are many misconceptions in the automotive scene and one that I come across pretty often is how a group of enthusiasts think automotive photographers don't drive nice cars. We probably see these professionals driving their Vans or SUVs to accommodate the load of camera equipment's they have, but there are a few who take a step higher. I'm talking about photographers who manage two expensive hobbies; photography and cars. I don't consider myself yet as a photographer, but I'm one of those guys who love taking photos and to modify my car, which is actually intractable because both require a lot of money and dedication, but today, I want to introduce someone who's beyond the level of many photographers, owning a ride that many of you guys might have not seen, but know him for his photography. As much as his photos are highly respected around the world, his car doesn't fall behind. A freelance professional photographer and also a contributing photographer for the well-known automotive site Canibeat, here is John Zhang's, aka 1013MM, 135i BMW.
