That had to be like 03/04 cuz that's the last time you could sneak off base. lol. I think they started shutting the game down in like late 05 early 06. Kuwait used to be fun as a BITCH!!!! Then they got all beaurocratic and crap and it became Arifjail round that piece. I remember we had to smuggle liquor over. Ahhh man. Good times. I miss the Army.

We saw a monkey wearing clothes sitting on a mirror of a Merc SUV drinking a juice box today while stopped at a stop light. Now I want a monkey!

They have a flea market out there where you can buy just about ANYTHING. Also, there's a lot of great eateries there (hard rock cafe, little ceasars, chillis, etc). If you get a chance, check it out. We used to hit Kuwait City for a lot of our tech parts and contracted work (I was a 25B computer analyst/programmer), but we never hung out there. We hung in Fahilil.

The water was some of the cleanest when I went. We didn't have the restrictions that they have now, so we got off post more often. We had a bunch of civilians (mostly from Booze/Allen/Hamilton corp) that used to live off post so it was easier to get off. The races we saw were so sick. Looks like you're having fun though man. Enjoy as much as you can. Take it all in. And try not to be around for their Independence day. It's like Mardi Gras times A BILLION
LOL! Fahaheel is where I did some good shopping last year! If you want some knock-off watches and purses, that was the place. Haggling at it's best. The electronics store there was way overpriced.

To get away and do shopping, we would go to the Avenues mall.

I'll tell you one thing, I would never get a speeding ticket out there LOL!

There is no need to sneak-off base if you have an off-post memo or PCS there. People who PCS there live out in in town or on-base as do the civilians.

They did come on base once to checked it out but after that we just sneaked off and spent the night at the house almost every night.

Hell yeah i miss those days. They even had cameras on the freeway that if your over 75 pix was taken. The captain talk to the whole command to stop speeding b/c he got tired of paying the tickets

Most all TCN workers are either from the Philippines or India/Pakistan.. Kuwait's hardly work, raise their kids .. just shop till their oil money runs out.

Yeah. Kuwait is a good time. And speeding tickets speeding schmickets. I met a girl over there named Soha. She was born in Kuwait, raised in Cali, and moved back there. Had one of the nicest Bentleys I've ever driven (in her defense, it was the ONLY Bentley I've ever driven). I got in SO much trouble behind that..well, on paper anyway. I signed an article 15 and was susposed to be doing menial labor but none of that ever came to fruition. My CO tore it up, patted me on the back, and had me follow some contractors around for about an hour one saturday when they were cleaning (cuz they couldn't come into our building by themselves because of security clearance issues).

The Monkey is goin on facebook. lol
