My New Car
Nice upgrade Jordan, I recently bought an X5 diesel I would rather drive it than my car anyday.

I drove a few M5s and an M3 before getting the X5 I am looking to get rid of my G in the spring and get an M 3 or 5 I agree they just a vastly superior car in every way. Even giving up the HP like you said I still take a BMW over a G

Agreed. Going from E46 to G = BIG mistake!
It just feels so much more refined. I had my G modded to hell and back so it was far from refined, always made noises, etc. but the Germans really know how to make a car. I feel it even takes bumps better than the G and other cars lol.
Feel great, handles great, sounds great, just everything about this car is superior, at least to a stock G. My G had straight line acceleration over the M3 anyday, which is what I miss most but where the M makes up for it in so many other ways.

You say your G had it in straight line acceleration- how did it match up in handling? I ask because I assume you had coilovers, swaybars, braces ad nauseum, and a particular wide tire set-up that could possibly take a slalom or twisties faster than an m3?

Is tire roar from the road noticeable in cabin M3? does the M have acoustic glass? did you have comparably bad rattles from the G?

No, I don't notice any tire roar.
Acoustic glass? Never heard of this.
Yes, my G was a rattle cage, except thats probably from all the mods (5AT to 6MT swap). To put it short, it was not OEM.
I never really got to push my G too hard as it always overheated on the track, but with the setup I had I think it was very close in regard to handling. On the track they were similar but I think the M is better. They were both fun though. I had 295/35/18 NT05's on the G for the track, and on the M I am using the same tires.

My dad got a '13 M5 about a year after I got my M3 and he loooooves it (as does everyone else). It is awesome, and we took it to the track a few months ago. The M3 eats it up in everyway but straight line though. It was a tank to drive, but when you get to a straight it there was a grin on my face ear-to-ear!
Btw check it out for some vids and pics of our track day. Our company rented the track for a day.

There's a few more there on our company account if you want to check them out. Was a great day.
