tell me what you think... Please HELP

Hey guys,
Im new to the g35 world. I just purchased my first g35 and I'm in love with the car. Im excited to get started on modifying the looks to make it better. Its a 2003 with 86000 miles 6 speed MT with navi, etc. I paid 8500 for it. What do you guys think? What should I do first? should I keep the paint? get different rims?

Suspension first, wheels or spacers (preferably wheels that fit) next. Be prepared to spend lots, not a good platform for modding on a budget

That isn't stock paint is it...

A lot of members do clear corners in the front so this G may have belonged to a past member. If you like the debadged look you can keep it, but I want people to know what I drive. The wheels are different, that's also very unique, and that white is brilliant.

My first recommendation is to check up on everything, and if those rotors/brake pads are getting slim you should look into some aftermarket break pads as OEM rotors and pads run out real quick. Plus I love the slotted look. Second, Your headlights could use an update. There is a DIY on the forum about how to refresh and protect them. Third, slide by the detailing section of the forum and learn how to keep your G looking good through winters.

Welcome to the community.

Not a fan of the paint, reduces the value of your Infiniti! If you like it, keep it that way since it's your ride. Wheels, check our Marketplace for a set of 19" rims under Private Classified. You can find some great quality rims for about 1/2 retail and most come with tires. Use caution, only buy rims with mid 20 offset! You might want to keep those white rims (paint em black) for winter wear. Good Luck & Enjoy the ride!

More agressive wheels and better headlights would def help your pull off the matte black look better.

If you are willing to spend money, look at the 06+ projectors, coilovers, and quality wheels.

If you wanna try to spend as little as possible, look at DIY paiting your headlights black+wetsanding the covers to get rid of the haze, springs like the 350z htechs and varstossens wheels (TE-37 reps).

Removing the frot license plate assembly if you don't need in your county (you can get cheap screw hole covers painted to match), and plastidipping or paiting the grill are also things you can do to change it up. Althoght the grill might look better like that in person due to the matte black, to create contrast.

What are these and where do I get them, the moron that owned this before me drilled right into the front bumper.

Drop on either springs and struts or on some QUALITY coils (I wouldn't recommend the stance, bc, f&f, d2, raceland, stuff), and get some more aggressive wheels (the "norm" is 19x9.5/10.5 with ~+15 offsets - roll your rear fenders). After that you can look into doing things such as 06+ headlights/tails, and body parts - although it might be hard to match paint since yours isn't stock.

YOUR vision of what the car should be determines where you start and what you do.

Do you want to improve handling and performance or just have a cruiser that has "the look"?

For me, I started small, with changing the orange side markers with "clear corners" it was a cheap mod. Then I went with a "z-tube" (intake of a 350Z) to get that sound and followed with a few others small thing.

I wanted better handling so in went a set of Hotchkis sway bars, Tokico d-spec adjustable shocks, 19" rims and wider tires, 350Z unrevised springs in front and Coupe springs in back.

I love my car now. My next project is to replace all the worn out bushing in the car.

Make a plan, do the research (you can find it all here) and work the plan.

edit: advice doesn't get any better than Texasscout. Having a plan and sticking to it not only allows you to properly budget, but it helps stay WITHIN that budget.

BTW, I like the look of the car generally. I wish the paint was a bid more "flat" rather than "satin" finish. You have a great start on a nice looking car. Also, there are some plugs sold to fill the holes in your front bumper if you decide to remove the plate holder. Search "bumper plugs".
