Nothing really fancy. I don't have a DSLR right now so sticking with my Minolta Maxxum 7000.

I want to get a new camera. I want a pretty good one that can take high res pictures of close up things (like that one of the chains several pages back). I dont want an SLR because I like to carry my camera around with me places. Theres the latest Canon Point and shoot that is 10 MP. Will that take nice pictures or do I need an SLR?

If you want to get close ups, a Macro lens is what you're looking for. DSLR, they only way to go.

and here is another picture i took last weekend in Florida, it hasn't been edited at all I just used the "accent color" setting on my Canon SD900:

wow .... thats a pretty freakin cool feature in the SD900. It looks very similar to the mono/highlighting technique. Check out some of these pics I touched up:
