I really like the Q50, my only complaint is that it is bland. Really nothing exciting about the car or unique. It is lacking in power and style, really just a run of the mill family sedan now.

I agree drove one a few weeks ago deft not worth the money. The center console is the only cool aspect.

Yeah the '03 Coupe/Sedan has many differences from the 03.5+ cars. I wonder if the Q was designed correctly the first time. It looks great and there are not many of them on the road in my region.

I honestly think it is why I have such a negative view of the G. I always wanted the newest, so I bought my 04 G35 in 04 right when they came out (had tons of issues). Then later bought my 08 G37 right when it came out and had bunch of issues.

I will never buy a 1st run model year again. I am actually planning on trading in my Jeep for a new Range Rover Evoque but have been waiting until the 2014s roll out to avoid my string of 1st run issues.

My G37x has tainted me from liking Infiniti, and the Q50 put the icing on the cake. They didn't do enough to differentiate it from the G, and along with every other decision the brand is making, it has just made me look elsewhere.

I just think it is time i go German... been driving Gs since 2007. Need something different.

WB6MT:
On to the next G series Wannabe6MT...?

WUB:
As an engineer, what makes you impulse to lease cars so much? Not typical in my line of work.

My personal opinion is Lexus.
I wanted one before I bought my g35 earlier this year.
While purchasing it at 178k miles and now being at 184k, it's still great for what it is.
As mechanic I see cars all day, everything!
Quality of Nissan vs Lexus is Toyota wins every time.
Same with resale.
I'm very pleased with my g35, again for what it is which is an 03 sport coupe with 184k miles on it.
As for cost in same class, Lexus vs Infiniti are always tied for cost of maintenance.
Aesthetics, quality, and performance I would go for Lexus all day.
BUT
Damn you Lexus for not making a manual!

Has nothing to do with my job. My dad/uncle use to restore classic cars for a living. I grew up with a wrench in my hand helping out. Been obsessed with cars ever since.
Also I only lease beater cars/daily drivers. I buy any car I plan to heavily modify.

I agree with your sentiment. Back in the day, a Lexus was nothing more than a rebadged Toyota and Infiniti was nothing more than rebadged Nissan. Both companies have made big strives to try to set themselves apart. Lexus is really the only one to succeed. Now when people see Lexus, they do not think Toyota at all, they think class.

Infiniti really has not done anythign to set themselves apart from Nissan. Really doesnt help having Z being almost identical to G. Then IPL came out and was nothing more than an overpriced body kit. Infiniti as a brand is really failing to distinguish itself or to compete with German rivals. Now with recent models from American manufacturers, Infiniti is falling even farther behind. Hopefully this new shift in leadership will take the company in a new direction, but it will take acouple years to see.

In order for Infiniti to really set themselves apart, they need a flagship. Every single brand has one, except Infiniti. Lexus LFA, Nissan GTR, MB SLS, BMW M6, Honda NSX, Caddy CTS-V, Audi A8. Infiniti doesnt have a single model to really set itself apart from the pack.

Not a huge fan of either car....but the seats in the Lexus are probably the best "stock" seats I've sat in for quite some time.

Personally I like the look of the Infiniti over the lexus.

In person it resembles the look of the new bmw 3 series but looks way better.

I have not been a fan of the lexus front for some time

It's kind of a let down that concepts can normally only be a concept...

The design as seen by a SAE engineers is something that lacks visibility, turn signals, and turnings radius.
