I need some help please. My gas gauge stopped working on my 2001 QX4 4wd, so I purchased another gauge cluster. The new gauge cluster worked great, but now the speedometer gauge doesn’t work, lol.

I found a guy on eBay who has several QX4 gauge clusters and who can set the odometer to exact mileage for me, and assured me these clusters are in working order. However, one problem, he wants to know if I have adaptive cruise. I have no idea what this is. He told me to google it. Well, I did and I have no idea what adaptive cruise is. I told him I do have cruise control and sent him a photo of a 2001 QX4 steering wheel. He then replied; “That isn't adaptive cruise. Sorry.. we can't help you.”

So, I’m sitting here completely puzzled and this guy won’t reply to any more emails. If I got a replacement cluster before and all gauges worked, but not the speedometer, what’s the difference of me purchasing another one? Does it need to be programmed for my vehicle or does it not matter? I’m so confused…..
