Talking Good Weekend for the G!

Hey guys. Wow I couldn't be happier with the new coupe. Gave it a nice washing (no wax :P) this weekend and then got a "Nifty!" from some old man walking by and instead of being heckled by teenagers walking by while stopped at a light, i got a "I LIKE YOUR CAR!!" haha
also, I just installed the Z-tube on the 06. I know there has been talk about how much it really improves the sound of the 05 and 06's compared to the 03/04s, so I was hesitant about getting it. I am so glad I went through with it. DAMN! I just installed it about 45 mins ago, took off the "Power duct" and left off the engine cover. Guys..holy Sh*t. above 3,000 it sounds like a different car! W-0-W. maybe its because I was used to a WRX for the past four years but...daaaamn. If anyone was hesitant about the ztube for an 05/06, don't be! You'll be really impressed. Maybe it was the combo of the power duct removal, ztube and engine cover removal..who knows..but i cant stop smiling right now..
was going to go to the gym before work...but now I think i'll just drive
(if i am this happy about a simple mod like this, ill prob orgasm from later mods...aggghhh )

If you like the Z-tube then change out your airbox and get a spacer from Motordyne you will like. I put on my Z-tube, intake spacer and Stillen CAI at the same time and YEAH, big change in exhaust sound (mostly at high rpm) and an obvious increase in power.

nice job don't get too excited now brace your self for all your other mods let's just hope that they all live up to this one. yeah i had an elderly man come up to my car while i was in a chinese restaurant (i parked by the window) and he kept looking at my wheels so my friend went out to inquire what was the problem and the oldman said he thought there was a bottle stuck in my wheel. lol at that point we tried not to laugh too hard we didn't want to hurt his feelings. poor guy.

Not a good comparison, bring back the power duct and see if there is a change. Ztube DOESN'T give you that much of a difference on sound and power on 05+ 6MT models....

i'm going to have to disagree. I had taken off the power duct previously, before the ztube, and I didn't really hear much of a difference, so i put it back on. I took it off again with the install of the Ztube and now there is a blatant difference in sound, muuch louder than just stock intake. Maybe its the combo of the two, which I wouldn't doubt. But again, powerduct off by itself, didn't make much of a diff if any...which means Ztube had a large influence.
