K&N Typhoon CAI- Installation Review

ok.... i installed my CAI it is made by K & N it suppose to be the best for our cars .. it took me 45 min with normail tools the mas airflow sensor was a pain in the *** to unscrew of the oem intake. overall i have gained 12 to the wheels !!! my car feels much faster, louder, and the engine bay looks sexier "lol" .. overall i give it a 5/5 it really had great instructions and was easy to install. it has a turbo spooling noise that kicks in at 1500 - 2000 rpm all the way to redline at redline it is GROWLING. i am planning to post pics and a sound clip.

the dyno show's a 12hp to the wheel I will post W/ pics....

if any one is intrested this is the link

Did you use the 350Z intake? The G35 is not listed on the website but Im assuming the 350 will work in the G35.

if you switch the year of the g35 to 2003, the part number should come up on their site.

Thanks for the help. I would like to see the pics whenever you get a chance. This is probably going to be my first mod to my car I might be way off, but from what I got off the installation instructions, the filter is located down just behind the lower right grill on the bumber so that it pulls cold air from the outside. Is the exhaust more throaty now that you have more air going in? Thanks again.

Where does this fit again?
Only thing I don't like about CAI's is soemtimes they are only good for the short runs.

Does this one get cold air from the outside, or sucking engine heat?

Thumbs up My CAI K&N Typhoon system install

Installed mine tonight. FL350GT, you were right. Installation of the "Intake" was easy, but taking off the damn underbody, wheelwell, splashguard was a pain is the a$$. Instructions were a lifesaver. No problems at all with the mass air sensor, just need the right torque head screwdriver. Spooling does start right around 1500-2000 rpm just like you said. I get some raspy noise around 5500 until redline. Car definitely pulls harder, and with the VDC off, my rear end slides out a lot more with a power shift.

Would highly recommend, and give it a 5/5 as well.

Borla cat back is next!!!

yeah, go ahead and show us the dyno sheet, i've also never heard of a intake adding that much power, usually its about 5-9 hp, sometimes its actually killing more power than u had stock.

I have the Typhoon CAI -- It looks great, installs easily, and is reasonably priced.
It did upset my idle only slightly tho, but overall is a good mod.
