YUP!
Had the man himself, TONY, install it on the ride today.
As soon as we were done, (hey, i held up the hot *** plenum with my bare hands), i reset the ECU and i was off.

Good LORD, this thing killed any shred of doubt i had.
After the last batch of DYNO posts and locals ranting about how great it was, i'll admit i had a tiny bit of doubt still.

That's gone now.

Acceleration has improved noticeably. Where i noticed it most on my ride was mid to hi rpms. Low end gained some, but much more noticeable in the mid to hi's. (3k rpm to redline)

As for noise, my exhaust drowns out the sound of the intake/plenum so i can't really tell u about any different sound.

Very happy with the mod and can't wait for the next dyno day.

But i have a question for you all.
For those of you that have the 1/2 inch spacer, stock engine cover will not fit. What's are the alternatives out there?

 

TONY the rocket scientist installed the 3/8 plenum spacer on my car today as well. I just decided to go for it because Clint said so. Honestly base on the 5-7hp dyno increase I wasn't expecting anything much - thought it would be like the K&N + Z-Tube. Heck I didn't even reset my ECU after the install. To my surprise, the spacer really works and it made a noticeable difference beyond my expectations. The car pulls harder from 2000rpm+ even under normal driving conditions.

Exhaust note sounds the same as before, I definitely heard a different type of 'growl' under the hood vs the Z-Tube mod. The power increase is undeniable! It felt like I was running in 35F temperature back east - the car has extra boost!

The 3/8" spacer is nearly invisible under the stock engine cover. Overall I'd have to say this is a very good mod for the money and I don't forsee any problem could arise from this simple mod.

Watching honestly made me want to get one....was just enticing somehow

Have to think about it some more

 

Anybody have real dyno numbers?

Here are a few DYNOs. On the middle of the page, DIZZ's ride showed gains throughout the entire power band. (Don't mind the low #s, it's from a MUSTANG Dyno and gives real lowball readings)

those are for the 1/2", I have not seen data on the 3/8"

 

My butt says about 10hp, but it's been awhile since I last calibrated my butt dyno. Clint's car dynoed around 260whp on my butt, so it's pretty accurate compared to actual dyno numbers.

 

One alternative is the 350Z engine cover. It fits good and looks great.

I have been interested in picking up a plenum spacer myself but I have a question, is resetting the ecu required and a dumber question is if so how is it done? My local dealership isn't exactly the coolest dealership in the world to say the least.

 

Yes, this is true. But within a nominal range it depends on your obective.
5/16" makes a higher average and more TQ.
The 1/2" spacer makes a higher peak HP at high RPM.

So it depends on what you want more.
Average power? TQ? Peak?

A reset can sometimes be helpfull.

Download a copy of our installation manual from our website. On the last page it shows a procedure on how to do it.
