I think his point was that these numbers are STOCK numbers, with NO mods.

You have an excellent idea. It would be a more definitive result if we could set up a controlled trial where an independent, neutral forum member compared 3 pre vs 3 post spacer runs on an '05 6MT on the same dyno, same day while controlling for coolant temps. Preferably on a stock '05 6MT with no Z tube, no aftermarket filter, nada. I thought about doing the trial myself since my '05 6MT is stock except for my 3/8" spacer but I'm not near a dyno. If 15 people were willing to contribute $10 each to get you or another motivated person to do the trial then it would be money well spent. I'd be happy to be first to volunteer my $10. Any takers?

I'll do it if we can get enough donations. I've already layed out $105 in dyno costs but I'll throw in a $10 donation myself. I'll even film and photograph the entire process from start to finish and put up a website with all of the results, photos, etc. I'll put the stock intake tube back on and the stock filter as well. I've got about 3 shops that have dynoes within 15 minutes of my house, so I'll contact them to find out which shop would be best for this type of testing. The place I've been going to is a Ford shop. I'd like to find one that is more "Japan-oriented" We've got $30...Who else wants to make a donation on the "MPSOA20056MTG35CDDF Webathon?" Operators are standing by...

I would, but I have an '04.

I can be the impartial observer though.

I need to test that Fluidampr too, maybe we can split a few hours of Dyno time.

Ok, so far we've got $40 plus Hydrazine's 50% contribution. In reality all we need is another 4 volunteers to total $80 and Hydrazine will chip in another 80$ for a grand total of $160. Did I interpret you correctly Hydrazine?

4) GEE PASTA

5) Hydrazine (50%)

Looking good so far people! Thanks for the big donation Tony. To me, this shows your commitment to your product. Kudos to you!

"We interrupt this broadcast of the MPSOA20056MTG35CDDF Webathon to bring you this important news flash..."

Roneski and I ran both out cars at the LVMS Strip tonight. Here's the results...

Previously, we had run together about a month ago. I was stock in my 05 6MT Coupe and he was in his 04 5AT Coupe modded with a Crawford plenum, Crawford Hi-flow cats, Z-Tube, K&N, Fuji cat-back, and Y-Pipe. We both ran about 15 times that night. His best of the night...14.66 My best of the night...14.73. At 2100 ft. above sea level at 60-65 F temp. That's .07 seconds of difference. Pretty even, right? 7/100ths of a second is very small.

Tonight, Roneski's car is the same as it was a month ago. My car now has the 3/8" spacer, Z-tube, and Amsoil air filter. We are still at 2100 ft. about sea level (the track did not move! haha) and the temp as 69-74 F. About 10 degrees warmer. After 19 runs (yes, 19!) Roneski's best time...14.83. My best time...14.87. That's a difference of .04 or 4/100ths of a second.

Stock-.07 slower than Roneski. Modded-.04 slower than Roneski. That's a gain of .03 seconds. 3/100th of a second might win a a top fuel dragster championship, but in the real world, there is no discernable gain here. I know this is far from scientific, but it's the best data we have right now. Well, the only data we have right now.

Now, let's do this right and get it on the dyno in tight, controlled conditions.

"Now back to our regularly scheduled webathon...Next up, Tony Orlando and Dawn sing for you. Please make your pledge to this worthy cause..."

Well I have got my spacer from Tony, but have been waiting for the results of this testing before I put it on.

Seems kinda lame of me to monitor this thread...waiting & wanting to see the results...without doing anything to help prod it along.

So, if you have a way (Paypal?) for me to get the money to you easily then I'll cough the $10

Trevor

P.S. I am in Canada and way too lazy to do anything involving mail, money orders or anything like that. I purchased from Tony via Paypal though, so if you aren't setup I could easily send him the $10 to add to his half, if he is willing.

P.P.S. Enquiring minds wanna know

SUD, are you planning to keep it regardless of the test outcome? If not let me know as I'm thinking of getting one myself.

Dean,

If we get some definate results that show it doesn't work on the '05, then no I will not keep it...that's why I am not bothering to even unwrap it yet.

and yes I will sell it to you brand new, still in the box for a good price. It's buyer beware so no hard feelings on my part if it doesn't work out for the '05. A brand new uninstalled part is just money tied up doing nothing...I will want to unload it at a decent price.

And I expect to be in Halifax once or twice within the next couple of months, so I may even be able to save you shipping costs. If I were you, I would wait for a little bit to see how this saga turns out, since I would then be able to save you some money.

Trevor
