So which is the better combo to get: z-tube with K&N filter or z-tube with JWT popcharger?

I'm still trying to decide, so any input from owners with these combos will be greatful!

Anyone have a pic of the Z-tube with the K&N?

Thanks alot guys!

another vote for JWT Pop-charger, and here's why. when you are rev the engine, pop-charger gives you a nice pseudo-turbo whistle, very quietly so, but noticeable. it's hard to explain, but it's a nice effect when you hear it.

Where do you live? Hot climate??? go with the K&N. Cold climate??? go with the P/C. The P/C without a doubt will injest warmer air than the stock airbox. Warm air is not good for your engine, but if you live in Washington or Oregon where most of the year it's cool/cold, you'll be 'ok' running the P/C.

If you live in South FL you can basically write off the P/C because you can actually feel your car hesitate/bog down when you take off from a stoplight in the summer time due to the extremely high under the hood and ambient temperatures.

Popcharger: sold
K&N: running much better...

So, I guess a CAI being used in Dallas, Texas is also a bad idea? I'm about to install my AEM instake.

If you look at the design of the stock intake, you will see that the stock intake is a true Cold Air Intake. It has ducts that suck from the front of the car, rather than from within the hot engine compartment, which is where the popcharger sucks in the air.

You can guess which one I have...

i think all the intakes have some malfunctions

i would just go with the sound

whistle.. louder.. deeper? JWT

not as loud+ more $$? CAI

the pop charger has the warm air issue and the CAI's have the water issue

And what's the problem with the stock intake with the K&N pannel filter?

Thats probably the best solution around, and thats the one I have. err, well, stock intake, with K&N high flow filter, and the Z-tube, I mean. No pop-charger or cone or anything.

Anyone have then the K&N cone with the z tube? If so besides the z tube what else needs to be purchased to connect the k&N cone? Which of our sponsors sells the kit, cone and adapter? Thanks

No Vote for Pop Charger
Sorry guys, I can't stand the whistle from the pop charger. It's from 3000-4000 rpm and on windy hills in third gear with my stillen exhaust (awesome sound), I hear this faint whisper either going up or down in pitch.

Drives me nuts, I like driving with the windows down, moonroof open, and the sound of the engine... Now, with the stereo blasting, or windows up I dont hear it. However, I want to listen to my $1500 exhaust and Z-tube, I will happily trade 1 hp pony for a new Stillen intake (5hp gain instead of 6hp) that doesnt whistle or weaze like an out of breath pony.

Stillen rocks - best exhaust by far - louder deaper grows - 17hp gain on dyno - and can still be driven quietly around the cops. But out on the street it turns the G35 into a 4 wheel motorcyle like my old CBR-600f2... it sounds like a cross between a low growly Trans Am and a screaming Ferrari.
