Z-tube with K&N huh? Does it change the sounds of the car? Ive heard the Nismo CAI on the car with stock exhaust and its sounds way better than just stock. However does the Z-tube with K&N really make a difference in sound? too me it would change the sounds by much. The down side about CAI is you have to remove the font bumper to just clean the filter. Dont forget the maintinence of that simple mod. IMO I would want to go CAI but because you have to remove the front bumper to clean it, its not worth it. Id prob go Stillen, ztube with K&N or ztube w/k&n w/ stillen. Whatever give you the sound, the ballpark performnace for the price, thats where I am. Nismo comes with Bypass valve too and Ingen you can turn the CAI into a short ram for you rain conscience people.

It's somewhat more noticable, the K&N is just a replacement filter in the OEM air box. I think the sound comes from the Z-tube not having any baffles like the OEM that comes on the G. As for adding power... I don't think it makes much of a diff. from stock. FYI my car made 232 whp with just this mod while a buddy of mine who installed only the Injen CAI made only 226 on the same day same conditions with only a couple of K miles diff. Could be just a diff in the motor, but I have heard that with the G's and Z's the wrong CAI can actually hurt the HP.

IMO a z-tube and stillen cold air box is the best set up, sounds a lot better too

I haven't had any clearence issues, I have heard other people have. Unless you install it in correctly or something (don't how anyone possibly could). I guess the bend of some of the AC lines may be different?

I am doing a z tube and BLITZ sus-power filter. I bought the BLITZ filter when was in Japan a few years ago. Now I will put it to use when I get the z-tube. I am interested in finding a good heat shield for this filter though. Any ideas?

I'm thinking about selling my AEM cold-air unit (with bypass valve) and getting a Stillen system.

If I buy a Stillen intake, do I still need to buy a Z-tube or does the Stillen connect all the way up to the plenum?

Thanks,

Jeff

not you just get the airbox. z-tube is a seperate buy

ive got the stillen air box and the z-tube, sounds pretty nice. no real hp gains, very minimal. its mainly for the growl of the engine

That's because of the retrictive OEM plenum, replace with the Crawford and you will notice HP gains.

I'm installing a z-tube with the pop charger this weekend. Next week, a 1/2" Motordyne spacer.

I pray that I will see a difference!
