Will the Z tube fit with no clearance issues with the stock engine cover?

I'm planning on going with a z tube either a k&N filter or popcharger but I'm worried about the sound of the car. How aggressive is the sound and does still have that same beautiful prrrr the car makes? Does the car sound louder when you turn it on or only around 3500 rpm? How loud is the car with only a z tube?

So, do I understand this correctly?

You can keep your Z-tube, K&N air filter but just replace the STOCK air box with the Stillen Air Box?

No, the stillen air box comes with its own coned shaped filter (similar to JWT's popcharger) that i think is made by K&N.

K&N makes a drop-in panel high flow air filter that fits into the stock airbox...it replaces the stock panel filter

Both applications can be used with the Z-tube.

It appears that the PC would be easier to take of and clean the filter than the Stillen. The Stillen it looks like you need to remove the entire box to get to the air filter. Is this obeservation correct??

I am starting to do some mods in my G35C and I am learning a lot from the posts. There are a lot of good posts about the z tube and k&n filters. I was wondering if anyone else has used a different cone filter besides k&n, like Apexi, and how they like it? Also does anyone have the aluminum z tube and is there a difference? Thanks.

Anyone have a sound clip of a K&N filter with a Z-Tube so we can hear how the engine sounds?

The K&N filter with Z-tube combo sounds exactly the same as the stock filter with Z-tube.....

Common Sense

Think about this... The AEM/Injen wheel well intakes may suck cold air BUT the stillen gets cold air from induction hole in the front and from the side tube making it a better intake system because cold air is constantly circulating , blowing out any hot air that would get in the vicinity of the filter.
