Review: Quaife Installed Now...
Infiniti of Memphis, my local dealer, installed my Quaife ATB Differential today. The mfr-supplied fitment kit made it a perfect fit. I drove it home, and the car feels stock when not pressed. But I had to make a couple hard turns, and all I can say is, it hooked and booked. I was propelled through corners, and there was not a slip or squeal from the tires. There was a new sensation in this car today... It's "planted" now.

The quaife is one of the more expensive LSD's out there for the G35.
MSRP $1,495
And if you don't have an open diff, you'll have to buy open diff stub axles which cost around $125 each.
It's also recommended that you get a set of new bearings/races and oil seals which will run another ~$100 or so.
But to have a mechanical diff that makes no noise, feels like stock when not being pushed, seamlessly locks up, and has a lifetime warranty even when raced, well worth the costs.

Wow talk about an old thread! Props to OH6 for using the search function. I've had the Quaife on my car for about a year and a half with only 2 track days in that time. Well worth it IMO. I'm still trying to relearn how to drive the car through turns as the diff allows me to be more aggressive and get on the gas earlier on corner exit. My instructor at the last event at Thunderhill had to constantly remind me to get on the power earlier and said the car could handle it. I was being a bit cautious being that it was my first time on that track but he's right. I need to trust the car more since obviously the setup of my car is far beyond my abilities as a driver. If you really like to go to the track any proper mechanical LSD is worth it over the stock VLSD and much more so than the open diff.

I wish I could take a trip to Cali, but I'm jus taking off my pumpkin and se
Shipping it with the parts to tsquare who have kindly agreed to put everything together and shipping it back to me.

This thread was found perfectly preserved in permafrost, under the frozen remains of a baby mammoth.
I probably have over 40,000 miles on my Quaife automatic torque-biasing differential now, and I feel the difference everytime I drive my car. I'm not a track guy, but I prefer a well-handling car to support occasional bouts of spirited driving in the twisties. It's amazing how much fun I've had while faithfully observing the speed limit!
A Quaife is the perfect complement to upgraded tires/wheels and suspension mods. With my tires providing grip, my suspension limiting body roll and keeping the tires planted, and my Quaife pushing torque to the rear wheel(s) that can use it, my car is a corner-carving sleeper.
I'm sure I routinely take corners more apace than when the car was stock, but with no drama or extra effort. The tires remain within their grip, the car stays flat, and corner exits come earlier and with a greater sense of purpose. Traffic behind must struggle mightily to keep up, and if I press, it's no contest most of the time. But of course, there's always someone faster...
This unit was more costly than most, but it's a gem: I enjoy the performance enhancements the Quaife ATB differential affords, and I'm very glad I got it. If you do not want to hear your diff, maintain your diff, or gripe about your diff, spend an extra nickel on the Quaife... and go first-class. Good luck.
