No, I don't know you. I don't know most people on this site. I can tell you what kind of character/morals/etc I would guess most of them to have based on how they conduct themselves on the site. I have not defended Russ in this and unless you are just choosing not to read it I have made it clear that I have distaste for the way he has behaved as well. You have both been less than civil. Who started something is unrelated to how someone else responds! If you respond with a snippy attitude, then you are just as bad as someone who starts out with an attitude.
My point in the post you are responding to is that, while Russ said basically that he saw my point, you disregarded the fact that you have *not* always behaved well in this. No, I don't know you but I can make a judgement about you based on the fact that you chose to blame your behavior on someone else. Does it make you a bad person - no. Does it give me a full picture of you - no.
As for saying it is just too easy to "own" him - I would have to disagree with you here as well. And let me say for the record that I hope that was in jest as it is one of the most immature responses I can think of if it was serious. Assuming it was serious - I love the irony that you are proving my point by having said it. I'm going to go out on a limb here and get Trey upset that I am pushing this issue BUT I have found that often times you two are arguing about things that while related are not proving or disproving the other person's point. Neither of you are by default right and neither of you have always been right.
Cheryl...
Don't get worked up over anything that DaveB has to say.
I think just about everyone has had their haydays with the dood.
Myself included.
He'll cling to his old maxima day's findings like it's the gospel mudderfuggin truth and continuously shun anyone else's findings/opinions like an ornery jehovah's witness yellin at people wearing i *heart* jesus t-shirts.
Ultimately, even the confused are entitled to their opinion.
G35_TX:
Fuggin AWESOME numbers man. I'm happy for you.

Long live MREV+
DAVEB:

I don't care if you agree with DaveB, like him, hate him, or whatever. But discussions like this are generally beneficial. Some of these types of threads tend to get a little out of hand, but usually somewhere in all the banter and conflict, there's some core nuggest of truth that rises to the top. These threads might not result in any definitive truths, or "final words", but generally speaking, the people that actually care to take the effort to research anything will find these posts useful.
As a personal example, I don't much care for MechEE. More specifically, I don't care for his attitude when posting. Regardless, I respect his knowledge, but I still disagree with him on some issues. We've had a number of heated discussions, and despite any arguments that have occurred, I know I've learned some things through those discussions.
I'm not taking sides here. But I don't like people suggesting others should be banned for what I consider constructive arguments.
Guys, these Review Threads were intended for members to post about their experiences with certain mods that are being tried. Please keep the arguements, flaming and baiting to a minimum, or all non-relevent comments will be deleted if it gets out of hand!
A bit of this may be expected or even useful on the general threads, but let's try to keep the Review threads on track.
It's difficult enough for ppl to weed through all the posts as it is without testosterone and ego coming into play. There have been many complaints about this, if you must, please take it elsewhere.
