They are just as strict as any other track I've been to in California. I've raced at Sacramento Raceway, Infineon, Carlsbad when it was open, Irwindale, LACR, LVMS. Some of which have stricter rules and are considered "real" tracks. Most tracks usually follow the same guidelines and emphasize safety which I agree with.
If racelegal is too "strict", there's always Barona. Better track prep.

The rules are made to protect you and them. Not even parking lots(autocross, drag, drift, whatever..) in the US will ever let you run without a helmet. Too much of a liability issue and if someone dies without a helmet from a head injury, goodbye event forever.
If they let you use a moto helmet, I'm sure you can find one for $60 bucks if not cheaper.

hey guys, some dude is trying to orginize a big yrs end meet in SD area. we should plan a meet the same day so if his meet develops we can roll through. if he drops the ball then people in the area can just link up w/us and what ever we got goin' on. Oside has alot of spots that'll hold plenty of car w/no cops hassleing us. there's a HUGE empty part of the Westfield shopping ceter(buy Sears) in Carsbad or the one spot in Oside near Joe's Crab shack we met at once.
