Driving the G along the italian coast. Here it is along the twisty roads of Sorrento.

This thing turns heads like a chick walking down the street in just a thong. It's one of the only few G coupes in Italy.

More pictures to come.

Not yet, about to take the car for the Smog check some time next week. After that, I'll be putting them on.

I was about to ask you if G35s are out in Italy at all. Especially a LHD one.

A native Italian was asking me about my car and most Italians have never seen a first gen G coupe up close. He had only known about the G coupe through Gran Turismo. I parked it at the mall and had ( ) marks on the window from someone looking inside. Any make or model that is a coupe or convertible will draw attention. In fact, most Italians drive compact sedans (yaris, smart car, etc) and here's why. Most drive compact sedans to save on insurance and road tax. For example, the G cost me about $600 in road tax a year to register. Road tax is estimated my engine size and horsepower output. My insurance on the G alone per month is as much as a car payment.

There is only a handful of G's in Italy. Infiniti's in general are rare in Italy.

I was driving the G to Rome and a guy in a 458 Italia gave me a thumbs up on the freeway and people at the mall would give me signs to rev it up or to do a burnout.

^Yup road tax and registration is expensive as hell.

Gas is about $9-11 a gallon for premium. I also had to pay about 14 euro's in toll each way just to go to Rome. That's about $20 each way in toll. Let's just say I won't be making that trip very much nor driving the G much at all either.

Is the fee based on the horsepower you have, or what the manufacture reported when it was sold?

It's based on what it came from the factory. I told them it's rated for 260 , but they pulled the VIN and charged me for the 298.

Here's a video of my journey to Rome. Take a look at the sea of compacts and you'll see why any sports car would stand out.
