Joyriide Detailed: Montego Blue E90 335i

Joyriide Detailed: Montego Blue E90 335i
1.5 years old with 10,000 miles.

Owner of this car had come to me a few months ago trying to score a detail to remove some light scratches and hologramming in the paint. Never heard from him again until last week. Upon receipt of the car, I was quick to notice that other than the caked wheels, most of the exterior paint was in decent shape in terms of bonded contaminants and grime. After a thorough cleaning,
I put the car under lights and went to town. The heat was unbearable. It was cooler with the garage closed and a fan blowing than it was with the garage door open. I was expecting my polishes to act up, but ironically, they behaved better than I ever expected them to under these conditions. I was throwing the polisher upside down, one handed, 2000rpms, and they would not act up. I switched my pads maybe 3 times the most and dusting still stayed to a minimum. Surprising, considering that I normally have to wear a mask while using the Menzerna twins to prevent inhalation of all the dust in the air. The finish on this car came out BEAUTIFUL. Montego Blue is such an eye popping color that when done right, looks like a jewel. I decided to go with FK1 1000p since I was not up for Zaino this time (last few times Zaino acted up do to the humidity and would smear all over the place). Engine was not detailed, and Interior only received a vac and wipe.

Before

I started the detail that morning weighing 168.5lbs, and finished the detail at 164.5lbs. Mind you all that was with about a gallon of water and food breaks every 3 hours. I had drips of sweat all around my work space.

After

*I have been feeling dehydrated a lot lately while detailing, even though I consume plenty of carbs and liquids throughout the job. The heat lately is nothing to take lightly, so everyone should take note to consume plenty of water and food while working outside for extended hours.
