update: adjuster just called and its over $14k in damages so far. i just gave the body shop permission to tear it apart so they can assess any further damages. not sure ill know by tomorrow so probably monday ill know the full deal...

New motor huh? ouch bro. If I were up there I would start tearing it down for you. But be carefull with the insurance company. If they decide to pay it off ensure to keep the car and do a part out. let me know what you are going to do. Later mike

ya i need to find out the salvage value. the motor only has 3k miles so if i can help someone out, ill definitely buy it to part out.

so im starting to worry it might not be totaled. ill find out tomorrow morning but heres my situation...

so far damages are more than what i owe on the car. can i just sell the car to a junkyard or something? then i would just take the $ for damages, pay off my loan then use the leftover with the $ from the car towards a new car. i really have no idea how this works but id really appreciate any advice from anyone whos knowledgeable on this stuff.

Are the damages more than what the car is worth? If it is then they will total it. You are probably going to have to wait for the adjuster.

they're saying its only 60% of the total and they need 80% to total it. im waiting to hear back from the adjuster now so i can ask him more questions...
