family/work life is tough, but i'll try to help the club out whenever needed.

positions - just create what you need. no point having ones that dont do anything. even if its just a couple at first, that will be your "exec board" where you can discuss ideas/meets/rules/etc.

feel free to hit up john/jb and ian/demonteverde if you have any questions on registering/laws and such. they really handle the important stuff and im sure they'd be willing to give you some advice.

A bylaw
(sometimes also spelled by-law or byelaw) most commonly refers to a city or municipal law or ordinance, passed under the authority of a charter or provincial/state law specifying what things may be regulated by the municipality.

The main difference between a bylaw and a "law" passed by a federal, state or provincial body, is that a bylaw is a regulation passed by a non-sovereign body, which derives its authority from another governing body. A municipal government gets its power to pass laws through a charter or a law of the state/provincial or federal government which specifies what things the city may regulate through bylaws. Similarly, a business or corporate body also gets its ability to pass bylaws relevant to its operation from some law or act passed by some public body for the purpose of regulating corporate activities.

A common mnemonic device for remembering the typical articles in bylaws is NOMOMECPA, pronounced "No mommy, see pa!" It stands for Name, Object, Members, Officers, Meetings, Executive board, Committees, Parliamentary authority, Amendment.

Rule

That which is prescribed or laid down as a guide for conduct or action; a governing direction for a specific purpose; an authoritative enactment; a regulation; a prescription; a precept; as, the rules of various societies; the rules governing a school; a rule of etiquette or propriety; the rules of cricket.

With help bylaws will be drafted up, we will post them, and revisions will be made accordingly

Looks like things are finally heading in the right direction.

4x4 club in Vegas I was treasurer.. We set up a checking account that was based as non for profit. It required 2 people to sign off on checks.

We had bi monthly meetings on Wed nights pres vp pres treas secratary and trail boss ( event leader) and web master. Each year voted new officers re elections were on unlimited basis Membership 25 bucks a year per vehicle owner or family member single vehicle 30 bucks a year.

Discussed current affairs (land use) upcoming events etc. New member agendas including vote in for new members In 5 years only 3 people denied membership... Club did split due to size almost 200 people at one point just got too big.. It was like having a big group get together to hang out on a regular basis some people only made a couple visits a year but others were there like clock work had dinner hung out went home usually a 2 hour social more then anything it was centrally located in middle of valley..
