So i bought some test pipes off a member here and they came in the other day. I noticed one of the pipes was bent on the resonator and i could shake it and hear something clanking. I noticed the spot welds had came off. So i had a friend spot weld them back. The noise went away. now......when i installed them, on a cold start there is a LOUDDD metal rattle noise which goes away after the car is warmed up, and when the car goes up on the rev's the sound comes back at certain stress rpm's.

I got under the car and when i hit the test pipes the noise seems to be coming from that damaged test pipe's resonator. Is there anything that can be done or is the resonator blown?

unless that part you welded came back out

 

i have the same issue with mine too ! but i just thought it was my exhaust ! i guess not , but like you said it goes away after the car warms up so i guess im cool with that untill i get some hfc,s

 

what brand are they as it might help

i got test pipes for my old g35 at miami muffler for 200 bucks,go that route
